Whats your worst knife?

  • Too small, easy to slip into the blade
  • Closed on me, slipjoint
  • Scissor too small and will misallign with prolonged use
  • Soft knifesteel, sharpen it several times to receive a metal toothpick
  • Used to the pen, sheeple: "Is that a knife?! Why do you have this?"
  • It got purdy when in contact with used file, no way to clean it thoroughly
  • It got wet, Flash Card fritzed
  • ... LED Lights is still functional, It's the BEST keychain light.

Worst blade I've ever pruchased? Probably my Strider folder or Chris Reeve sebenza large. Horrible finish and broke when I was cutting open an envelope.

My newly Benchmade "skirmish" knock-off knife I bought less then $20 on ebay is the worst knife in my collection.
This thing is made out of pot-metal handles and a soft/light metal blade perfect for a tool box in the old farm truck. ;)

I prolly payed to much for this POS but it looks cool.

Cheap OTF I got off a site claiming:

The Most Durable, Reliable OTF Single Action Automatic Knife On The Market Under $200.00!!!

For $34, I should have know better. That thing couldn't stay locked open to save it's life. It was more like those halloween costume knives that collapse when you push on the blade to look like it's stabbing something, lol.

This pliers plus piece of crap.

The pliers are ok but I can bend every attachment on the thing with my fingers.

I have a box with a couple of dozen made in China/Pakistan p.o.s. knives, that I couldn't, in good conscience, give someone to carry.

I bought some Buck Bantam series as beaters.
Worst steel ever that doesn't take or keep an edge. Junk compared to Buck's 420HC.

SOG Flash 1. I used to think it was great until it developed all kinds of blade play and I realized they use some kind of propriety screw for adjusting the pivot. I called customer service and never heard back from them. It is now in my junk box.

This sounds legit.

Not counting any cheapo freebies I've accumulated over the years I'd say the worst knife I've ever purchased was one of the recent encarnations of the CRKT folder. That, or a Boker Magnum I bought when I was in high school.

Some United Cutlery Tanto ''Ranger'' deal given to me as a freebie from a vendor, it's a glove box beater not quite s****Y enough to toss. The gesture was kind hearted and appreciated though. I also recieved an ''extra'' in a trade, being told that it was a nice little folder. Turned out to be another made in China P.O.S. that went right into the garbage. The main trade deal knife was sweet though and that's all I cared about.

A little S&W SWAT knife. Hopefully not too many actual SWAT teams are entrusting their fate to a knife that can literally fall apart in your hands, as mine basically did. Also, with all due respect to glue-on grips, do they not have superglue in Taiwan? The grips on mine peeled off like a banana. Last knife I bought before I started reading about them.

I'm not sure if it's my worst knife, but certainly the most disappointing knife I ever bought ,was my Emerson CQC 11. The blade is so off centre that it scuffs the liner as the knife opens and closes. I can tighten the pivot bolt so that the blade just barely misses the liner, but then it's so tight it's hard to open.
It's especially frustrating when I look at some of my cheaper Cold Steel and Sog folders which have perfectly centered blades.

The worst I ever bought was a Gerber Evo tanto. Dulled quickly, horrible blade play, and didn't flip out easily. Ended up leaving it at work as a beater/scraper.

For the money I believe my SOG trident to be one of the biggest mistakes I've ever purchased. Whithin several weeks it had developed a ton of blade play in all directions and the blade ( AUS-8 ) began rusting like crazy ( I oiled the blades periodicly like I do all of my knives ) and I'm not talking small specks either but a dull redish tint on the blade that couldn't be scrubbed off not to mention the handle is made out of some of the cheeziest plastic I've seen on a 60 dollar knife. Don't even get me started about my SOG Aegis.

Even as a kid I was someone obsessed with knives. My mom didn't like me to have knives (which made me want them even more). I used to order them in the mail from the back of my "Boys Life" magazine when I was somewhere between 8 - 10 years old. I would save my money, walk to the local convenient store and get a money order. Then I would mail it in for the knife and try to get to the mailbox before my mom for the next 3 weeks to get my knife without her finding out. Those knives sucked, but as an 8 - 10 year old, I thought they were the best thing ever.

As an adult, the worst knives have problem been a few of the Smith and Wesson folders I've had. They are seriously worse than the Chinese M-Tech knives which you can buy at truck stops (most of the time, I actually like the design and feel of those for the price).

My worst knife is any knife company that Used to make knives here or at least some of them and now make them ALL overseas..........You KNOW who you are. Schrade, Gerber just to name a few. I would rather pay Double for a USA made knife.

A junk folder I got in Italy since I didn't think of bringing my own. That thing fell apart on its own just from opening and closing - the handle screws came out of their standoffs, let alone the pivot. What a waste of 13 euro. I wouldn't carry that knife today even if I was paid that amount just to leave my ZTs/Spyderco's at home.
