How could it be 1/3 wolf?

Just like you can be 1/3 Irish or Italian or whatever.

Think about it, a purebred dog can be bred with a wolf then that offspring bred with something else. That would make the offspring part wolf part husky part whatever it was bred with.

Yep, breed a 1/2 wolf with a full dog and you got 1/3....breed 1/2 wolf with 1/2 wolf and you have 1/4 wolf pups and so forth.

My ultimate would be Wolf cross Shepherd.

they do have some breeders here in the States but they don't compare to the Ukranian lines i am seeing overthere

I Think I have the answer for the 1/3 wolf deal (percentage)

breed a purebred wolf and dog = 1/2 wolf 1/2 dog (50/50)

mix this offspring with another wolf = 3/4 wolf 1/4 dog (75/25)

mix this offspring with another dog = 2/5 wolf 3/5 dog (technically 37.5/62.5) but this is close enough to being 1/

breed 1/2 wolf with 1/2 wolf and you have 1/4 wolf pups and so forth.

if you breed two 1/2 wolves youll have another batch of 1/2 wolves

Nope. Half wolf mates with a dog, doesn't matter if it's full blooded or not, you have 4 grandparents donating genes, only one is a wolf. The offspring is 1/4 wolf. Mate a 1/2 wolf and a 1/2 wolf, the offspring has two wolf and two dog grandparents, it's half wolf.
