What's your Zombie Killin' equipment??? Pics only.

Man, you used all my best excuses!

I often forget that some of the married men here need an excuse to justify their purchase to Household 6. My wife doesn't mind as long as I can afford it. My knife collecting has saved our collective asses when she lost her job. When the going gets tough, the non users get sold!

:p

Perhaps they had a threesome in the woods.....

Lets go with that before the thread derails into a dog orgy. ;)

Anyone on here made an Irish blackthorn? was thinking of getting a proper one shipped over...I know my great grandfather always had one (came over from ireland) but who knows what happened to it, but they were effective enough to warrant the British outlawing the full length blackthorn.

It's also an endangered species, which is why it's so scarce and expensive these days. :o

I know of several suppliers in the UK, so they must have grow operations running for blackthorn canes...I been looking at antique ones as well, missed out on one that was really nice for $150 (all knotted and knurled) last year at an auction.

A shelieghligh? (Terrible spelling) haven't seen a true blood blackthorn one coldsteel has a similar one being made. Other then that no idea where to find one. Though if you ever do get one I suggest you start studying up on your way of the whiskey stick. A few teachers are up in Boston and I think they have a few books published

I did some searching and found some suppliers in the UK who are selling genuine blackthorn clubs (Shillelaghs)...I'm guessing they are growing them again specifically for what is now a niche market, since its not common to see people with a cane or staff these days. I emailed one who does it by order to try and get one around 35" - 40" long, I walk a lot and hike so it'd get used for more than just a defensive weapon. More than anything I just want one because my great grandfather did.

Cold steels one looks interesting but the coldness of plastic I really wouldnt carry it.

This first pic I already posted, top to bottom: Cold Steel Katana Machete, Hanwei Tactical Wakizashi, Bark River Northwind Sword, Cold Steel Ghurka Kukri, Cold Steel Trench Hawk

Here are my others that should fair decently vs. the Zombie hordes, top to bottom: Blackjack Panga machete, CRKT Hisshou, Ontario 12" machete (turned into a tanto, added micarta scales), HI Ang Khola(cut off the tang, welded on a full tang and "Strider wrapped" the handle), Cold Steel Oyabun

Yep, breed a 1/2 wolf with a full dog and you got 1/3.

So by your logic (or lack of) there would 3/6 wolf (=1/2) and and 2/6 (=1/3) of full dog - making it 5/6 of a beast? Just add 1/2 and 1/3 dude. The threesome might have worked - but only for a laugh! :D

Even though i dont personaly believe in the zombie invasion (its just a conspiracy theory, like this "bad economy" we're in) these pics have made me jealous. And since I was a cubscout I believe in being prepared.
Now while i'm not into showing my guns, I do have sweet .22 lever action that would be great for head shots, and the ammo would be cheap and abundant.
But as for knives, i'd have to go get my fixed blades, here they are (ignore the gerber bootknife, etc. - i'd probably go for longer blades).
I'd probably prefer the Sog Seki Tigershark and Ka Bar Becker BK9, great choppers and "reach". But the old custom Dawson Tanto would reslish the challenge.

Maybe it is just me but I don't see much in the way of protective gear if the zombies do get close. I think I would have a nice riot helmet for starters, along with either a thick leather jacket to prevent bites or some sort of hard shelled arm pads, and probably some knee pads because you might have to kneel or might fall to your knees. Mainly stuff to keep you from getting hit in the head and passing out and from getting bit. Even if there are a load of zombies if they cannot bite you they cannot do a whole lot else to kill you quickly.

Heck maybe I would wear my motorcycle helmet as I definitely want something to protect my mouth and eyes and nose from zombie blood splatter.

Sorry I don't have any pictures though.

Definitely need blood spatter protection!

In a pinch, you could rip the cutter off of one of these:
