When can I get a USPS MO refund?

Dave, I had it happen once, have to wait 60 days from issue, and
you also have to pay for a special request form in order to submit
the lost money order number for payment.
A bit of a pain but they did get a check out to me right after the
60 day mark, a long wait, lucky the person I was dealing with understood
and thought no ill, we worked out a different transaction so that went
ok, still never got the envelope back.

Yep, it does suck but they probably know that letters often do show up.
But, the good news is, the clock starts from the day you purchased
the money order, not when you file for a refund, so, you could hold
off a while before getting the form and paying to submit it.
But you do need to submit that in order to ever get a refund, then
it's in their system and at the right date, it pops out automatically
driven by the date.
BUT, if perchance, the money order shows up, and someone cashes it!
They will come back to you for that money from the refund!

I had my June car payment disappear in the mail and just filed a USPS mo claim today. I had to wait 30 days from when it was purchased, then go to the post office and pay a couple buck free and fill out a form. I hope the replacement arrives faster than an additional 30 days :grumpy:
Hi Just my Two Cents, I have bought USPS M.O.'s and Convience Store M.O.'s I have "lost" a store brand one in the mail. it was for like 28.00, when i called to report lost or stolen, it cost me almost half of what the money order was for to get a replacement. so If the USPS ones cost a couple of bucks , then 60 days ain't so bad. Also my bank charges like 25.00 to stop payment on a check so, that pretty much Sucks too. Haven't lost a USPS one but I switched to buying them after that incident. Again just my Opinion on this.
