I think I am going to have a long road ahead of me with Spyderco. Look at what two sprints/exclusives showed up at my door today(yeah, my wallet isn't used to that). I got the black g10 for Christmas. 3 out 4 of my locking Spydercos are Paramilitary 2s. I also learned that M390 is screaming sharp by filleting my finger(hopefully I won't dent the tip like my black one). I also need to stonewash the clips and switch it to tip up(no safe queens here). Also, I didn't know that the blue G10 was more aggressive than the regular PM2s.

What Spyderco gave you the "Spyder bite" and you can't stop looking at Spydercos? Pictures are always welcome!

My first serious pocket knife was a Gin1 Native 1 I bought for around 50 bucks in 99. Loved the ergos and the spyderhole, and was hooked. Carried my native around clipped to the front inside of my pants for years. Next one up was a ZDP Endura when I deployed in 08. Then an OIF Native, and now I have an M390 PM2, an M4 Manix2, a Persistence, and a Native V on it's way. I've also purchased several of the mules and look forward to actually having some time and money to devote to putting handles on em.

Love Spyderco. Amongst many other things I love from them, one that keeps me constantly interested is the fact they keep on offering very different designs and materials (I am a complete sucker for their ethnic line...when I know one of those is coming out, it's a very exciting thing for me). It reminds me of what Swatch has done in the watch industry and I mean this in a positive way.

So far only one Spyderco has "bit" me (touch wood...): a camo + black blade Military in S30V. It sliced my right index finger opened, horror show style...Sorry, have no picture of that though.

i would have wanted a more brutal thread title: "When did Spyderco knives change in your mind from ugly to gorgeous?"

Mine was in the fall of 2009 when I first handled a stainless steel Delica. It snowballed from there.

I got a Tenacious first about a year ago. I then got a caly 3 zdp-189. My wife bought me a Sage 3 (I actually wanted a 1 or a 2) last May, and then the Sage 2 this past Christmas, and I have the green PM2 in CTS-204P on order. I thought the thread was going to be about getting cut by a Spyderco as your Blue did. I have only been cut once by my brother-in-law's Persistence. I was sharpening it for him and rubbed my finger down the blade to remove a smudge and did not even notice it but it got me. Not a good way to test sharpness but I was done sharpening that knife.

Like many, the Para 2 drew me in and this little piece of genius made it even better...

...And it's Spyderco's commitment to their customers and continuing forward progress to bring us superb knives, that keeps me in

As far as getting bitten, my new M4 Manix2 has bitten me several times now. The edge is so sharp, I don't notice I've been bitten until I start bleeding all over the place. It doesn't seem to want to play nice, but I'm okay with that. That's the only one that's bitten me so far.

Oh mama, I'm in fear for my life from the long arm of the law - Renegade for those that didnt listen to Styx back in the day.

I remember thinking spydercos were ugly, then I slowly became obsessed with the delica after I held one at a shop. Slowly but surely I fell in love with more spydies. I'll admit there are still a few models that I condsider to be ugly, but ergos and durabilty are of more importance to me now=)

i'll bet with you it's now the "tacticlol" knives' turn to look ugly.

Can't remember when exactly I got my first Spyderco, an S30V Native. Around '08 I guess. I loved knives as a kid and teen, but always had cheap, dull knives that were pretty garbage. Never learned to sharpen or anything as my dad did landscape construction and if he needed a knife it was an X-acto type razor, or an old kitchen knife to cut sod... So I was really searching online for a couple months, trying to find the best value, best steel, etc... And S30V steel kept being mentioned, and the Native was about the most cost effective way of getting it from a good manufacturer. Got it, loved it, carried it for a year without sharpening....

Once it got too dull I ordered the Tenacious I had heard so much about :p This is the one that really got me into the spyderco state of mind, seeing just how much quality they could pump out for $30. Soon after I got the Sharpmaker and could actually keep my knives sharpened, but I still wanted more. Got the Centofante4 as soon as they announced it was discontinued. MAN that thing cuts like a laser beam. I was slicing an orange in my hand the first day I was carrying it at work, and didn't expect it to zip right through into my palm :o The Cento got me hooked on Wharncliffe blades, too. I ended up getting a Large Wayne Goddard FRN here on BF from a member.

Then I got the knife that made me stop buying modern knives. The Ti/G10 CPM M4 Spyderco Military. WOW. The Military platform itself is unreal. Such a great user. The mix of Ti and G10 gave a very positive feel in hand, while still being reasonably lightweight for how much blade you are packing. And the steel is insane, very tough, VERY wear resistant. Takes a very nice, subtle patina with use. I have carried that probably 85% of the days since I've had it. Though I gave modern folders a break and started carrying traditionals for awhile in the middle, but I'm back to it. If it wasn't for the Spyderco Air coming out, I'd feel confident saying I never need to buy another Spyderco, or modern folder.

Oh, and I got a couple of the 9cr mules in the middle there somewhere, also. :D

The first Spydie I purchased was a Civilian at a gun&knife show back in '94. Ah, a Civilian - was I ever such a newbie? Yes. I recently acquired a more recent Civilian model. I also have an old Endura, a newer Delica and I just got myself a Military.

Bought the first one, a Worker when it came out, than the Copilot and the first collaboration knife done with Bob Terzuola, all back when they first came out, I have about a dozen Spydies to date, not much of a collection and they all are really users, everyone.

I'll see if I can gather 'em up for a family photo.

I got my first Spyderco in '92-'93?, It was a Rescue Clip-It and I still have it. I thought it was the weirdest looking knife I had ever seen. Those serrations, the hole in the blade, the pocket clip, were just strange to me. I found out real quick how sharp they were, took all of five minutes before I cut the hell out of my finger! I've been in love ever since.

I had looked at them for a long time but did think they looked really weird and were very expensive. Then I got a Manix 2 a few years ago, it went down hill fast. I have had to institute a number of knife moratoriums. My only bad bite was from a Para, nailed the side of thumb.

Ever since my dad purchased one more than 10-15 or so years ago, I've been a huge fan. I remember when he bought one, I was with him and thought to myself, that is one seriously cool knife. It was an original Delica. Been a huge fan ever since. Recently I've started adding to my collection. Started simple enough, Spyderco Grasshopper. What they don't tell you is once you buy one, you want more. I immediately went and purchased a Ladybug. Then Delica..... Currently waiting on my PM2, cant wait till that gets here!

I hated Spyderco knives when I was a kid. I don't know why, maybe not the right shape for my hands at that point. I bought a byrd Cara cara 2 and a Tenacious a couple months back, and I am kicking myself for missing out on awesome knives for years.

I now have a Native 5, PM2, Delica 4 and a byrd Meadowlark. Soon to add a GB to the mix, and a sage...
