When do you think Case took a turn for the worse?

I would like to come across an old Case in good condition. My EDC (Amber Bone Texas Jack in CV) is a great example of excellent Case quality, fit, and finish. I do have a Mid Folding Hunter that needs to go back, because it is pretty loose. I am thinking that it stands, if you get a good one it is just AWESOME! If you get a bad one, then you really can tell. I am glad my EDC is as good as it is.
