When have you ever actually needed a "hydraulic feel" knife?

If it's not your cup of tea, maybe we can help put you in another direction. What terms being used with knives would you like associated with the knife you are using?

In my opinion, the best *term* for the feel of a Sebenza is "C.R.K." That stands for "Controlled Resistance Kinetic".
Or perhaps "amandla", which is Zulu for 'Strength'. Either is cool and fitting.

But that term may change in my mind within the next 5 minutes.

You can give it any terminology that you prefer. You see, cause its yours. And you are the one that will describe it to anyone that you choose. But my personal opinion is hydraulic. Might be because I'm a tradesman. What do you do?

I like hockey, so it opens like a slap shot, and feels solid like a goalie stick, but handles like a forwards stick.
If that makes an sense?

If I wanted to stretch the meaning of words and redefine purpose, I'd work for the Obama administration.

We only have one room here for political comments like that, and this isn't it.

If some of you guys were as good at logic as you are at 10th grade sarcasm, we'd already have this problem solved.

There is no problem to solve.
If we want to say it has a hydraulic feel when opening we will.
Forget about it, and find something else to whine about.

Nice! A three page thread on correct usage of the word hydraulic in relation the the feeling of open a pocket knife. I flipping love the subforum.

I like the smoothness of opening knives and can be particular about it. To me it doesn't matter what term someone uses to describe it as that's what they think of it. It's a nice smooth opening.

In any case, this thread:
A++++++++ WOULD READ AGAIN!!!!!!!

"Hydraulic feel" is the PERFECT word to describe how a Sebenza opens and closes.

"Controlled resistance kinetic" ..lmao

I like the "hydraulic" feel of the pivot, that's why I use two at a time one in each hand.
I also use words like soda, warsh, and Deetroit.

I just solved the problem: I opened my sebenza in the sink with the water running on it. There fluids were involved in opening the knife.

Now you can go back under your bridge.

Since air is a fluid, they are already involved! lol
To the OP:
I am not alone in this: I buy CRK knives because I like them. Period. It's my money and if I want to spend $600 on a knife that is beautiful, smooth, and perfectly finished then I can!
I am not sure if there is a box cutter or Chinese gas station knife forum but you might want to try posting there next time:)

I've never knocked Chris Reeve, his knives, or the feel of opening them. You guys are acting like a new kid on the block is calling your momma names. You complain about this thread being long but 90% of it is y'all's unhelpful, pedantic remarks. I'm on your team. I'm not a hater or a troll. I don't care about gas station knives, your sinks or YOUR continuous whining about my point. The worse part of this thread is that I bring up a point that could make us more precise collectors, and it's like talking to a mob. And to prove my point, someone will make sure they have the last word after this post, just to stick it to me. So keep your term, I could care less. But some of y'all need to breathe out and turn off Rambo.

There were some boxes at work that needed opening.

only a hydraulic feel of a knife could of performed such a task.

Rather comical observing the ornery first post coupled with the victim card in the latest post.

The collectors have spoken and they do not need your assistance.
Thanks for understanding.

Many thanks to you kind sir :)

Whew! I don't think some of you realize just how close we came to loosing our beloved hydraulic term.

But some of y'all need to breathe out and turn off Rambo.
