When have you ever actually needed a "hydraulic feel" knife?

I feel inspired. I have the Rambo box set and will now set knives on the table and watch the movies in order! While I am at it, I am going to arrange my knives in a new way: from most hydraulic to least:thumbup:

Im goinf to mod my sebenza with nano speaker so that everytime I open it, a hydraulic noise will play on speaker.

I got a hydraulic machete, my arms are hydraulic, and I lifted my house up and put my house on hydraulics.

I've never knocked Chris Reeve, his knives, or the feel of opening them. You guys are acting like a new kid on the block is calling your momma names. You complain about this thread being long but 90% of it is y'all's unhelpful, pedantic remarks. I'm on your team. I'm not a hater or a troll. I don't care about gas station knives, your sinks or YOUR continuous whining about my point. The worse part of this thread is that I bring up a point that could make us more precise collectors, and it's like talking to a mob. And to prove my point, someone will make sure they have the last word after this post, just to stick it to me. So keep your term, I could care less. But some of y'all need to breathe out and turn off Rambo.

Brother--we welcome all to the CRK forum to have a meaningful discussion, but your first post was neither inviting nor friendly. It was condescending. As you already know, the CRK forum is full of friendly and knowledgable people who all share a passion for all things CRK. Your post came across as "calling our momma fat" with your tone. You are being mocked, not because if your actual question, but because the way it was phrased and your condescending responses.

Also, you failed to directly answer some questions that are framed in reference to your original post. Specifically, you didn't answer the 3 questions I posed earlier.

We want you here and welcome your input, but please don't pretend your opening comments and responses have not been inflammatory.

I've honestly been so busy working today that I didn't see your questions or I would have replied. To he honest, it was one of the few - looking back over the thread - that was worth answering. I don't think they needs answering now, because I'm not going to beat the dead horse.

The provocative tone was intended to generate heat. I don't regret that. And my hypothesis proved true, that for almost 4 pages now, people assumed I was a troll for exposing something I thought could improve the brand.

I'm not new to CRK, believe me, I'm familiar with the brand ;)

This is why I think the 8th grade sarcastic remarks aren't worth my time.

Thank you to the ones who asked good questions! And I actually have a hankering to watch Rambo now too. That or Die Hard, one or the other.

FFerrel--I see you have some CRK's to spare. I will gladly personally test each one and those that do not feel hydraulic I will dispose of properly. I sent you an email with my shipping address ;).

Bro you came out swinging with fists of sarcasm and condescension. Really, 8th grade sarcastic comments aren't worth your time when your FIRST post and all to follow were nothing but language, by your own words, intended to stir heat?

What's this magical hypothesis? That people getting annoyed when you try and provoke them? Bravo. If that wasn't trolling, I don't know what is. You've gone on and on as a victim for people responding the exact same way you started? Good grief, Charlie Brown.

I'm glad it's unique and smooth, but there has never been one time, EVER, I've needed to cut something and thought, "boy, I sure am glad that knife opened with a hydraulic feel". I personally think the people who love it the most are the people who just sit and fondle it all day. I think it's cool and unique, and I'm not knocking it, I just don't know that I care about it or that it gives an advantage what-so-ever. It has no real world purpose to me. In fact, if I need it in a hurry, a properly tuned CRK folder would leave be a few extra seconds behind. But y'all think it's legendary, so whatever. And lord knows, if I flip it open that's worse than blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. SO..., the next time I have a fishing hook in my teeth line tied, and I need to cut off the extra 3" of line, I'll use delicate, calculated precision to open it, marveling at its smooth hydraulic feel, and think, "what a blessing it is to have a $450 user knife that takes actual concentration and appreciation to open and close.

Bottom line: Hydraulic feel nice, but takes extra effort to open and close, PLUS shows no immediate advantage.

OPEN TO REBUKE HERE! THIS IS JUST MY OPINION.

Ferrel it's how you presented it to us, you said you where open to rebuke, that's what you got and now your trying to twist it all around. You could of went in to any other forum here with the same behavior and attitude and would of gotten the same thing. We are hear to share our experiences with each other, and or help, discuss problems, things of that nature. We still welcome you, I would think about how your going to say something before you do, it makes a difference. Good luck with you knife.

So, you acted like a troll, to prove we would assume you were a troll, but you think you are not a troll.

3 things: First of all, great profile picture, you look great. I'm serous. Secondly, I admit I see your point of view. Third, I actually want to stop Rambo and watch Charlie Brown now.

^ not sure if serious, but thanks. The wife as kids actually do look much better, fwiw. ;)

A troll assaults a brand, not questions it. Yes I questioned terminology that CR didn't invent. I wanted to, and still want to improve the brand. I'm pro CR! Generating heat gets the RC harder. I still don't like the term, but in this game, majority wins. It's a democratic fan base, and I'm ok loosing the vote.

I don't call my wife a troll when she says, "you're not going to wear *that* tie to church are you?" I just may consider her point. My house, however, is not a democracy. I change ties. ;)

I removed the pictures of all those CRK's because got 5 emails within 15 minutes. Sorry guys, they aren't going anywhere.

We own a bank vault.

The door rattles a bit when closed. It has all kinds of play when open...

Guess that analogy sucks too.

I know right?!?! Some stingy, bearded, old fogey won't let me even play with all them.... whatta douche. :D

Lol, you've seen more of them than anyone else on here has seen. Every time I post a picture of them, my email blows up. Especially when people see BG-42 all over the place. Which reminds me turk, I need to hook you up with that Umfan. But we'll talk later. Things are not the same as they used to be. ;)

Pro tip: If/when you decide to do this sort of thing again, calling people out for ignorance, please use proper grammar. It projects poorly on the OP when they try to belittle others only to write poorly in exchange.

My writing isn't perfect by a long shot, but I'd certainly make sure it was if I was going to go on the offense. ;)

I remember the first time I heard the term "hydraulic" in reference to the Sebenzas action. It was spoken by one of my favorite youtube personalities. It may not make sense to you, but it clicked with me (and many others), so I've used it as a descriptor. Sorry that it bothers you so much. Maybe try to think more in the abstract?

Anyway, good luck, and stick around. :)

Ok, so this is an attack on terminology? I had never heard the reference to hydraulics before, but I understood the feeling being described.

Whatever, this is all turning out to be rather silly.
