Awesome GAW! Thank you for the generosity. I'm on the east coast of North Carolina and its currently pouring out. So definitely an apt name for the GAW. Really my modest collection are all users, but thought I'd share a pic of one "on the job"
Edit: I really like grand daddy size barlows, that S&M looks really good to me!

Would love to join in for a chance. Here’s a user my Grandad kept on his kitchen table for years then I’ve carried it for many years. It’s semi-retired but still gets out and about now and then.

I want to enter, because that is a pretty knife, but I am not going to. As much as I really love the look of barlows, I never actually use them. And if I won this one it would just go in my safe with all the other knives that are pretty but don't get used. So I like the idea of this knife going to someone who will use it.

Here's a traditional user of mine, and it is even a Barlow! (Full disclosure, I only classify this as a user because I tried to get myself to use it, and I did enough to get a bit of a patina, and then I stuck it in the safe)

Bonus picture, my first traditional was actually an S&M Barlow, so this GAW was really tempting. But I could never get myself to actually use this knife so I gave it to my dad. I like S&Ms. I like the look of Barlows. I just don't really use them.

I just wanted to share a pic of 2, "grand daddy barlows" I have sitting around.

Both identical Imperials, from '56-'88, both were owned by my wife's late grand daddy himself, and my plan is to clean them up a bit and give one to her son, and one to our son, as hand me downs from their great-grandfather.

I don't carry large slipjoints much, but that one looks very classy. What is the blade steel?
Here is a pic of my go-to as of late. This modified 15 one-arm gets about 50% of the carry time of all my traditionals.

I love my IMPERIAL Barlow.

Btw Grandaddy barlows are actually the XL sized Barlows, the jackmasters aren't Grandaddy's.
I know Colonial made a Grandaddy Barlow but I'm not sure Imperial ever did.
