Hey, don't knock the RAZR. That knife was great. I used one extensively in my tactical operations in 'nam.

Misanthropist
SUICIDE COMMANDO
FORCE NINJA MASK CELL OLYMPUS 9
BLACK DEATH OPS JOINT TACTICAL SQUADRON

Not quite a Ratmandu is it? Or anything else with functional balance and style..... I do like the job HD did on the "Tracker" Pit has....that is good....this one misses the mark for me though....badly....

Yeah - but it has a serrated edge on the back. I, personally, hate carrying a saw - I like my knife to hurt me every time I touch it.

Oh - yeah - and because I am HARD TO THE CORE!

That looks like the worst handle I have ever seen..which suprises me..TOPS usually atleast has a good handle if nothing else...this time I think they have shown thier ass! JMHO. :thumbdn::eek:

M4X Punisher (fictional) field report:

  • 5:00 PM - Getting dark out. Tactical situation. Better make a camp fire. Good thing I brought my M4X Punisher.
  • 5:05 PM - Have gathered firewood. Time to make some kindling.
  • 5:06 PM - Took M4X out of sheath. Serrated spine cut sheath retention strap in half.
  • 5:08 PM - Trying to baton. Baton sticks keep getting stuck on serrated spine.
  • 5:10 PM - Small pile of kindling. Time to make some fuzz sticks.
  • 5:11 PM - Choked up on grip to carve fuzz sticks. Have gashed thumb open on serrated spine.
  • 5:12 PM - Thumb injury can wait. Am hard core operator. Need to do some more chopping.
  • 5:16 PM - Chopping done. Many blisters from knife handle.
  • 5:17 PM - Fire is ready to light. M4X Punisher returned to sheath. Remaining half of retention strap cut away by serrated spine.

:D

i like the little Hoffman quite a bit....the other one (MAX PUNISHER!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOLOLOLOLOL) needs work.

Ya gotta remember that movie knives always sale well to people who dont know anything about the outdoors or good knives. How long has United Cutlery been saleing the junk rambo knives that have no real use outdoors to people heck when UC came back they were some of the first knives they offered cause people still but them. When Hunted came out people were buying trackers right and left dealers could barely get enough to fill demand and we all know that Trackers by Tops leave much to be desired without some modification to the grinds. Hollywood and reality are two very diffrent things but if Tops can make some cash saleing these to people it's better than cheap chinese versions from china at least the Tops knives wont break when you try to use them. The lite hunter looks more like what someone that knows what they are doing would use.

I do like the blade shape overall. If they left the meat on the spine and did some work on the handles I don't think it would be a bad knife. I kinda like the way the blade curves sharply at the end.

If you like that blade style but want a cleaner version, Anza has been making a knife like that for years called a Tracker without all the extra "features" on the spine.

 I gotta agree Liam. What in the heck does that mean (101% made in the USA )? The knife aside, the whole ad is terribly designed.

I can't believe that TOPS actually made something that looks that bad.

That kind of makes them look bad I think. Especially with the picture of that guy. Is he supposed to be Mr. Cool or what?

I guess it's this guy...

Hi, and Thanks for Your interest in my work.

I suppose I should give a bit of background information about myself and my knives.

I live and work in a remote area of the Great Smokey Mountains, in Western North Carolina USA. Before becoming a knife maker, I was a Policeman in a Large Northern City, for approx 20 years, the last ten in plain clothes on the warrant squad, was full of action packed adventure which I loved... My law enforcement career, abruptly ended through no fault of my own, politics etc. and left me to look for a new home as well as employment. I could have simply continued with Law Enforcement else where, but I had done it all, and was actually slightly weary of Crips, Bloods, Da hood, and my human trash collecting chores. My father , God rest his soul, was a Staff Sgt. in world war 2, in the third infantry, and survived the battle of the bulge as well as quit a few other battles. two of his brothers and two of his cousins were not so lucky, and gave their lives for my and your freedom. He came home and became a master craftsman, as a watchmaker, a now mostly defunct trade. I always liked guns and knives, had a class 3 firearms license, was a firearms instructor, and sold machine guns to police dept s. part time, had done part time gun smith work, and had been attempting to make knives part time for three years before. I decided that I might be able to make knives
full time....which (after 12 yrs full time) is not recommended for making easy or lots of money. This was the start of a journey into knife making that can really only be fully understood by those that take the path, . I am self schooled, I do all processes in house, as well as photography, web master, computer tech etc.
When one looks at a knife, it appears a simple tool, yet making one that looks and functions perfectly is a constant challenge, and skill that takes great time and patience to master....I am also a marshal artist, and can tell you it's one of those type deals.
My background in Police work lead me toward making knives that were valuable as weapons as well as cutting tools. The police world taught me first hand that sometimes, circumstances put peoples lives at risk. Failure of the weapon or tool in the hand at that moment can be devastating. I am also a knife thrower, and have abused every knife I have ever owned. The one that would cut and survive the rigors of knife throwing were what I considered a good knife.
