When was the last time you were pleasantly surprised?

Brass Dalton Bones would be my guess...

The last time I was surprised wasn't with a knife purchase but a sheath.

The story: being happy with my guardian 4 and really having an affinity for M390 I picked up a G3 on the exchange, good deal on a like new knife but I just never came around.
I then randomly got a coupon code from Armattan carry solutions and decided to pick up a kydex sheath for the G3, more expecting to sell them as a pair, not really thinking it'd change my outlook on the knife any...
Boy was that wrong, Ive carried the knife every single day since I got the kydex sheath for it!
I guess what most surprised me was how big of a difference ce the sheath / carry method can make in forming an overall opinion on the knife, never did I think "man I like the knife, it's just the sheath I don't". Nope I had made up my mind I didn't care for the knife as a whole till I got the new carry method!

I had always avoided liner locks until I picked up a GB1. I was really surprised by how much I love the knife and how well executed the liner lock is on it. Totally changed my perspective. The only issue is that I am somewhat hesitant to buy another knife with a liner lock because I'm afraid nothing will live up to the expectations set by the Gayle Bradley.

On another note, you guys convinced me to order the S90V Yo2 just a few minutes ago. My knives typically see a lot of box cutting type choirs so it just makes sense and I've always wanted to try the platform. I'm really bummed out that I skipped the Cruwear/CF Manix, so I figured I can treat myself on this one. DLT has em in stock for the cheapest I've seen them if anyone's lookin.

Now just debating if I can justify a WTB thread on that Manix...

DLT is the only site that still has them in stock (that I can find). Apparently it's a hot commodity. $168ish is the average price. I ordered mine from GPK yesterday. I'm excited to see this version of the Yo2 in person. The more I look at it online , the more I like it.

I know what you mean! Originally I didn't find the color combo terribly attractive, especially the stock photos that make the scales look much darker than the picture Joe posted. After reviewing his picture a few times, I decided I had to have it. I can't wait to get it in person and feel the ergos. I'm really curious as to how the dimensions of the knife will compare to a Manix, GB, and PM2, both in hand, and probably even more so in the pocket- noun; a place where my knives spend a regrettable amount of time in

Damn! $168 for a S90V blade? That's a deal in its own self! I actually like the color combo. It has just the right amount of flair to it. Not to mention the all-mighty compression lock. I'm in total agreement with Spyderco being the best "bang for you buck" knife company out there.

I've never handled one, I always overlooked them since they're designed as a self defense blade. The only thing I'd have to defend myself from is the occasional deer that crosses my path and they haven't tried to mug me.. yet.

You were right. This Yo2 is outstanding. Mine arrived today. I love the dark , discreet color scheme. One of the best looking knives I've ever owned. With some of the best ergos I've ever felt.

I recently received two knives from Verusteleka in Finland and I can say I was pleasantly surprised. The little 110 mm puukko and the Terava Skrama bush knife. They only took nine business days to arrive from Finland. They come in stainless and carbon steel. I chose carbon. Both feel great for the price. You can choose to get with a sheath or not. The leather sheath is a bargain for only slight extra cost.
The website is usually sold out but you can have it email you when they come in--then act fast.

I KNEW you'd like it!!
