I am having to take extra blood pressure medication to keep the heart calmed down. The wait and anticipation os killing me. Seriously though, does anyone have any news as to when they will be available and a ballpark price? Thanks.

I've not heard of Aqua salts. Are you talking about the Saver Salts? The 79mm Rescue models?

You and me both Tolly.

I'll be in Colorado on the 30th of this month. About 35 miles from the Spyderco Factory Outlet Store. With any luck I'll make it over there that week. I'll report back here with any news I dig up on the Aqua Salt's.

The aqua salts are the fixed blade utility model. We modified the "Vagabond" handle, redesigned the blade in H-1 blade and made a sheath. The protos should be coming back from Germany on Tuesday.

They are our first Fixed blade salts and should provide solutions to many of the salt water fixed blade knife issues.

Hi Rupestris,

Give us a head's up before you get here and I'll try to have the protos in the store for you to see.

How's that for customer service? A sneak peek courtesy of the guy in charge.

You said it. Now I gotta buy more Spydercos.

Thanks Sal. I'll be in the Denver area late on the 29th. Leaving on the 3rd. Not sure what day I'll get to visit but I've already got my directions printed out ;) .

I'll make sure the protos are in the store for a few days during your trip.

While on vacation recently on Campobello Island in NB Canada, I had the pleasure of meeting a member of the local whale rescue team. The dangerous work they do in a harsh marine environment rescuing entangled whales is to be commended. I wanted to send "a small token of my esteem" his way, thanking him for his selfless commitment to this daunting task.

I had pretty much decided on a Pacific Salt SE as the thank you gift I'll be sending his way. I'm hoping A.G. Russell offers engraving, as I'd like to personalize the gift. While waiting for customer service at A. G. Russell to open, I decided to see whats new at Spyderco.

I had a feeling a fixed blade would eventually be added to this wonderful line of knives.

I'm curious as to the time frame of the anticipated offering of this new model, as he might be better served in his endeavors by a fixed blade.

Thank you Sal.

Those Aqua Salts are incredible. I know I only begged you to sell me the PE model but the Spyder bit me and I'll be getting one of each when they're available.
Sorry I couldn't stay and talk a little longer. My co-workers were in a hurry to get up to the mountains and Thursday was the only day we could fit everything in.

To everyone else.
If you ever get to the Golden, CO area. Stop in. Sal and the gang at Spyderco are some of the nicest people in the business. I really can't say enough about them. The customer service and friendliness at the Spyderco store should be a model for all businesses. With any luck, I'll make it back there to thank them personally.

Here's the adress of Spyderco:

820 Spyderco Way
Golden, CO 80403

Either this is the adress of SFO too or SFO is right around the corner.

Yep. Same building. When you enter the front door, the SFO is just behind the reception desk. You can't miss it.

Use Google or Yahoo maps to get turn-by-turn directions. Its not hard to find.

I hope these will be out soon. Just to hold us over, some more eye candy.
The prototypes I was allowed to shoot and post from this year's Amsterdam Meet.
