Where are you headed for the long weekend?

I had completely forgoten it was a holiday this weekend. Working 60 hr weeks does that. I'll be working except for Sunday. Sunday is a get together with some fellow SAR types for some chopping and knife testing.

the problem is my university is located ontop of a mountain...

more views from my school;

haha thanks dude, my school is covered in hiking trails

Well, it's Thanksgiving weekend for me, so I'm going to be visiting my family in the Collingwood area. We will spend the better part of Sunday hiking on the Bruce Trail, which should generate a decent appetite. Other than that, I'm hoping to spend some time in the shop working on a few knives.

To those who study at universities in BC, let me just say that I am green with envy. I did my undergraduate and early graduate work in Ottawa, and I now work at a university in Toronto. I had the opportunity to attend a conference at UBC this past summer, and I couldn't figure out how anybody gets any work done there. It's right on the coast in the middle of a beautiful cedar forest, and you can see mountains all around on a clear day. Unbelievable. The same goes for SFU, of course. By contrast, there are more trees on my desktop wallpaper than within a 3 mile radius of my office. Needless to say, I keep a sharp lookout for job postings in your neck of the woods.

Anyway, to my fellow Canadians, happy Thanksgiving, and to the rest of you, enjoy the weekend.

All the best,

- Mike

I'm going camping in the Catskills this weekend. QUOTE]

Nice, what part are you heading to?

I'm keeping a low profile this weekend. Taking the kids pumpkin picking, going to the town Fall Festival, taking the dog for a walk around the nearby ponds. I'd like to get a bike ride in, if time allows. Oh yeah, and rat-proofing the house again. Aparently the water rats aren't afraid of the dog anymore, have left the vicinity of the brook and my wife thinks she heard one in the boiler room.

Heading to Roscoe ....hope to get some trout fishing in to boot !

I'm heading towards debt. Why don't you tag along. The journey is so much more fun than the destination!

The good new is that I have a seven day weekend every weekend. The bad news is I am old and about half crippled.
