Eh, I see your taking your ball and going home, but I'll reply anyway. I'll refrain from figuring up your labor and materials on kydex 'cause it's laughable.

From what I can tell, your're not wanting blanks, but finished blades. My advice is pretty much with James. If you honestly think you have a great new design, I'd contact an established company to have it made. You can always go out on your own later. Try Boker or CRKT.
 
His presence will be sorely missed, his contributions to the forum and knifemaking will be hard to replace, our loss.

To begin with, when I spoke with you, you never really went in depth as to what your project would require. So the quote I gave you was very generic. Doesn't matter now. You have a grand total of 5 posts on this forum that I call home. I will stand up for every brother here. I took me a long time to get where I am, not an over night sensation that you are hoping to be. Getting some poor Asian to do your work for you and taking American money out of America gripes a lot of people's a$$ including me. I didn't spend 12 hard years in the U.S. Navy supporting Americans to catch shit or for someone to call me or my friends a "backwards shit head hillbilly". So while you are in Asia looking for your manufacturer, you might just want to look for a place to live there too. Never been called a 'shit head' though, well maybe a couple times....

I did learn something from a fellow Hillbilly. An educated Hillbilly is called a 'Hillwilliam' :D
 
OK, Ive seen this before. Why is it always the guy who has never made a knife that has the answer to what we've all been doing wrong. I can't beleive that with our collective minds we have not came up with the ultimate anvil sliceing blade that can be manufactured for under $20.00. Are we doing this wrong?

One guy calls 40 people trying to give him advice and help him arrogant and stupid, 40 guys who have been there done that. Some who make their living paying for their house, cars, and supporting their family off of what you are trying to conjure up. Some who pay part of their bills with their part time hobby. Some do it just for fun. I'll tell you one thing ALL of them are trying to make the best quality product, with the best material at the cheapest price for their customer. None of them have been able to get even close to your get rich scheme. They might know a thing or two about what you are attempting.
For now I'll join the shit heads, they've taught me a hell of a lot and they're fun to hang around. And don't come back.

This guy is so ignorant and mis-informed I feel real sorry for him. Probably just some 15 year old kid who thinks he knows it all, I am getting a real laugh just thinking about it. A non knifemaker is telling us real knifemakers how he is going to make a better knife than us and sell it for far less and he thinks we are threatened.
We really need to just ignore the trolls, I mean really guys he has 5 posts on this forum and he is already calling us names for giving him real advice. Someone really needs to give this guy the boot.

You people are celbrating chasing this guy away?? Just bc he is ignorant in the ways of knife making does not mean he is a bad guy. In fact he was polite up until you jumped on him. Before I came to this site I had zero ideas about knife making. You people are ridiclous I gaurantee you all have something made in Asia. If not then you can yell at him. This guy was just ignorant but he did not need to be chased away! Sigh there was no reason to be rude to him.

He got advice and hurled insults, you bet I'm celebrating not having this guy around. Not understanding knifemaking and needing some guidance is one thing. When you call several people giving you FREE advice duragatory names the only place your welcome is out the door.
