Where do you carry your knives?

My favorite carry position is: a fixed blade knife 7" long carried inverted, hanging from my front right pocket. I make a clip from Micarta that allows my knives to hang upside down. Like I said, the pocket hanging is my favorite. It is also comfortable hanging from my belt, or waist band.

The exact positions of my blades vary daily according to my wardrobe and weather for the day. The two things that are always consistent are the large Sebenza I carry in my 5th pocket (change pocket) and the classic SAK on my keychain.

If I'm wearing jeans then I have a Tekna boot knife in a break free kydex sheath I made myself, held to my belt by a horizontal belt sleeve from Blade Rigger.

If it's cool enough for an overshirt I wear a Millennium Fighter with an 11" blade from Hossom Knives ( www.hossom.com ) in an inverted break free kydex sheath (yup, made it myself). It's attached to a Spinal Backup Rig (SB3)from Blade Rigger ( www.bladerigger.com ).

Or, if I'm going to be active (running around with friends) and I can wear a baggy overshirt I wear a dual execulite shoulder rig (yes, from Blade Rigger). It holds two 6" blade tanto knives inverted in break away sheaths (these sheaths James Piorek made for me, he's a master).

If I'm staying at the cabin, I always have my trusted, beat up and battered Blackjack Anaconda II with a 10" blade in it's worn old leather sheath opposite my Ruger Redhawk on my gunbelt.

If you don't have a CCW permit yet, get one. If you live in a state that doesn't offer them, I can certainly sympathize (I'm glad I could move).

If I remember the question correctly: While running, I carry a BM Ascent 835 in a Solo water bottle waist pack. There are pockets on either side, and the Ascent fits perfectly. Along with a lighter, chapstick, and keys, and occasionally money and ID. Oh, and a water bottle, full of water. I highly recommend it (the water, the pack, and the carry method).

Great ideas, all! Since I posted this, I've taken to carrying my Rookie IWB, right kidney. Very comfortable, and pretty well concealed. I also removed the clip from my CQC7, rigged a stiff lanyard about 4 inches long, and I slip the knife (point up) in my right front pocket with the lanyard barely peeking out the top. To deploy-grab the lanyard and pull. Quick wrist flip and the blade is out. And with the Stiff KISS around my neck, the wife REALLY thinks I've gone too far! Thanks, everyone. You may soon be the only family I've got....
