Where do you guys buy your silver?

For such a small project, like you suggested you can get old used silver coins.
try coin dealers and pawn shops - although they often try to charge way too much

Coin condition is not important so you can use a really worn silver coin.

If you scour junk shops like the Salvation Army and such places, you can sometimes find souvenir spoons and cutlery.
They will be marked Sterling, 92.5 or other marks.
It's tough to find the stuff because there are many others also looking, but you can get lucky.

Yes Patrice, but i went in person to buy, their location is about 15 minutes from my house
If your interested, call them, i found them to be very helpful

Patrice, Hagstoz will make the shibuichi for you for just a little more than the cost of the metels and send it to you in an ingot.

Today with silver at $29.24 an oz. Junk silver dimes and quarters SHOULD sell for about 23X face value. So a quarter would sell for about $5.75'ish. If I did my math correctly you would have about 2/10 oz of 90% silver metal.
