Where do you keep your EDC's? Do they make a display box anywhere?

I usually just carry my favorite...as long as it is my favorite...Can be years.
Any others have to wait their turn.

Sonny,

Curious, what is the longest you have EDC'ed a knife and what was the knife? I'm always fascinated by knives that are truly EDC.

In general if I can add may two cents to the thread:

I would second the nomination of gem and rock cases, I have some nice ones from when I used to collect stones.

But, I would personally prefer not to display them in an open case like that/advertize their existence to anyone who may drop by. I think storing them in your dresser or someplace sufficiently out of the way as you do already is a better option. But, they aren't my knives and this is just my take, so if you would like a display type set up, again look at the gemstone cases, etc.

I keep most of them in a Case-Gard Sportsman's case. Factory boxes underneath and the unboxed stuff on top on the foam fingers. I usually have 1-4 lined up on the shelf near my keys, wallet, etc... and I grab one and go. Right now there's just a ZT 0566 BWCF up there.

I need to figure out what to do next though, because it is full. Not too fancy, but it holds quite a few folders. I will probably just buy another. It is a nice heavy duty case for an MTM. I can't think of any other MTM product that I like.

Thanks. I bought one today from Amazon. Big enough to hold four pistols so I assume it's double foam layered. If so, I'll put my tactical flashlights in the lower compartment. AND I ordered a watch display case too, to hold the various watches cluttering my dresser. My wife's going to be impressed!

I'm not a huge fan of this, I want to get something better but in the mean time this case that came with my HID headlight kit had makeshift cutouts that fit my knives which I then filled to over capacity!

You can't see it that well but there are 1-3 knives under each of the top knives in the picture! It's packed full! Plus a leatherman and 2 lights

Yeah the top lid has foam to insulate the tray that is foam lined as well. The tray rotates 180 to sit low or high in the box which gives more room underneath for boxes, etc... they are solid. You can padlock it if you want, and the closure clamps actually hold with no flex for heavy loads unlike some other cheap MTM designs like their ammo cans.

You can probably arrange at least 20 folders in the top tray, plus another three layers of factory boxed knives underneath.

In my workroom I keep a rolling cart with about 10 drawers, and the knives are in its various drawers sorted by grind and type, etc. I keep about a dozen knives on my 6' x 4' work bench surface, another few on my 6' x 4' computer table (have to be careful not to nick myself while typing):p, sometimes a few more on my dining room table, or a few more in a zippered pouch....basically all over the place... and easy to mix and match or carry. Nothing on display.

I keep my regular carries on my desk and on a book case shelf. Many not so regular carries are on the shelf since I look at those particular ones fairly frequently. When my interest dissipates, they get moved elsewhere if I think about it. I don't display knives for anyone other than myself, only store them.

I got the four I ordered and they are nice. The entire backside is velcro and the material is decent. They stick like glue inside my safe and door. They do hold knives great, but I will probably end up using them as intended since I found lots of things on the safe floor to put in them... like magazines and glock slides stuffed into socks. The safe is CLEAN and I reclaimed a few pairs of socks too :)

I think I like having the knives on a high shelf in my Sportsman's Case, so I will order one more of those or look at Pelicans.

At the moment, only one Spyderco D'Allara is a true every-day, daily, carry knife. It simply rests on top of Bitsy's Vari-Kennel. (Bitsy is a dog.) A couple of other knives, carried less often, in addition to the EDC, also rest there, or in a bathroom cabinet. (ODC, for Occasional-Day Carry? ;) )

Anything stored in the gun safe, or boxed/bagged elsewhere, is simply not an EDC.

I got a Pelican 1520 to keep all my knives in! Need to check it out. I'm sure you would like it and it's under $120

I use an oldish Union engineers tool box that I have lined with pick and pluck foam and covered in felt:

Just a little men's valet case on my all purpose "dry sink" where I store most of my stuff. The small knives are in the drawer, the large (non regular carry) stuff is underneath.

As long as I put everything on that stand, I never lose anything. Its good to have a first place to look whenever anything goes missing.

The only problem is its not secure at all. You only have to go through 1 locked door and 1 Neapolitan Mastiff to steal anything you want.

I'm only half kidding. Locked doors and windows can be smashed and I read an article that said like 95% of dogs (not talking trained guard dogs) would run and hide if someone actually broke into the house. We did not have Sofia when we were robbed and the door was unlocked :( Luckily they only took the big old change jar.
