Where do your knives live?

Like the most of you viewing this, I love and appreciate my knives. The value of having a knife in my pocket, to me, is priceless. However, when it comes to storing them, I just don't care. When I get a new knife, I throw away every bit of packaging and paperwork. The knife goes into rotation, earns it's frequency of usage, and is tossed in the box. Some knives get used often and some just get lost in the mix, but I value each and every one of them. I gift away many knives I don't use. The rest get carried, used, dulled, sharpened, and used again.

After joining this forum, I've noticed an appreciation I have for those of you that are the opposite of myself. I acknowledge and respect the many different ways that each of us handle our passion for the blade. So many members preserve their knives. Others display them, use them, abuse them, or selflessly offer them up on the exchange. But I am in awe of those whom keep their knives pristine and untouched.

Anyway, how do you keep your knives? Mine just go in a box.

I store all my baby's in a large range bag & store that bag in a safe =D, overkill I know lol. I actually cringed a little when I saw your box hehe.

I have added a shelf and more on door since my fixed blade inventory has grown. The folder contraption started small and has been added to about five times.

The ones that see carry time are lined up from smallest to largest across the night stand. Although if they cover most of the night stand, shouldn't it just be called a knife stand?

I clip my puukko to my daily carry bag, slip whichever folder I feel like carrying that day into my pocket, and the rest stay in the safe. I "collect users" so they all get some carry/use time, but I do keep them all in original boxes/sheaths in the safe when not in use.

Now there is a safe full of love! Congrats on your inventory, must have taken awhile to collect all that.

My normal-sized folders live in my Spyderpac; XL folders and fixed blades live on my closet shelf.

My beloved fiancée scored me a beautiful rosewood box originally intended to store a nice dinner set. The top flips open to store my falshlight, keys, wallet, and the SAK and traditional folders I regularly carry. Then the bottom drawer holds my regular rotation folders.

The folders I don't carry are organized in a tackle box as well as some of my smaller fixed blades.

My larger fixed blades and some of my smaller are, well, a little more haphazardly placed through the home.

Most of mine live in old silverware boxes (cheap as heck), shelves, or in drawers in my bunker aka converted cold storage room. I really want to build a giant custom wall case that would hold most of the folders that way they could be displayed better but have not had the time LOL.

Example of some of the ways my stuff is currently "housed":

The collection is always changing and I need to figure out a better way to display fixed blades too; they're thrown all over LOL.:rolleyes:

I've got to up my game, everytime I see a post like this I promise myself I will get organized. This is where I keep some, the rest are in a crate in the closet

Dang onojoe! You're just as bad as me.

Got a little drawer in the closet that holds my keys, glasses, wallet and most of my folders. The fixed blades and hatchets are cluttered across a shelf above it by my small, every day carry gun safe, and then there are a few in the full size gun safe.
