Like the most of you viewing this, I love and appreciate my knives. The value of having a knife in my pocket, to me, is priceless. However, when it comes to storing them, I just don't care. When I get a new knife, I throw away every bit of packaging and paperwork. The knife goes into rotation, earns it's frequency of usage, and is tossed in the box. Some knives get used often and some just get lost in the mix, but I value each and every one of them. I gift away many knives I don't use. The rest get carried, used, dulled, sharpened, and used again.
After joining this forum, I've noticed an appreciation I have for those of you that are the opposite of myself. I acknowledge and respect the many different ways that each of us handle our passion for the blade. So many members preserve their knives. Others display them, use them, abuse them, or selflessly offer them up on the exchange. But I am in awe of those whom keep their knives pristine and untouched.
Anyway, how do you keep your knives? Mine just go in a box.
