LOL!
Amongst the best Forum Knives ever made and many thanks to knifeswapper knifeswapper and the workers in Italy for making it possible in very difficult circumstances

If pellet lifts were acceptable in the late c19th and early c20th can we put them on 'traditionals' now and get away without censure or policing?

🤣🤣🤣 I kind of agree, LOL, but it was the trad annual BF knaf! Whatever became of that particular dealer since then?
How did that happen?! 🤣 Sadly, Mike has had a few health/family issues to deal with over the past couple of years :( Hoping he's back here before too long

Jack and Ed thanks for the info. Will, you ask a good question. I think I know a pellett when I see one. Mr. Pellett goes down in knife history though. If I mistakenly post a knife with a stud here I will call it a pellett lift.

The Pellett lifts aren't actually designed for one hand opening, just an alternative to a nail-nick. There are traditional one-hand openers, but they don't use studs or thumb-holes :)

You're probably best just saying 'Sorry', and editing your post ;)

Look at the picture in Jack's Jack Black Jack Black post. The pellet is a button attached to the spine of the blade not a stud attached to the side of the blade. So no, you can't get away with calling a stud a button. :)

I hereby promise to accept all righteous criticism of my posts and take it like a man! I thank you all in advance for keeping me in line.😉

I think the "out of place in the 1960's" rule is pretty solid. That should settle 99.9% of all the questionable features you could think of. Don't post the other .01%.
