I've accumulated these over the years. There's a few missing, like a Sebenza 21 that's out to the "spa", and a few spydercos I keep in my car and workbag.

For a long time I just hoarded knives, but now my focus is on collecting customs and CRK's (always searching for a flat-ground or an acoustic Sebenza). I'm really into André Thorburn's work as of lately, boy can that man make a knife! These things flip!!!

Nice collection.

I'm at 90+ knives right now so getting a pic of my full collection would be a chore. That number hasn't grown much over the past several months. I seem to have reached a point where I'm getting much more picky about what I buy.

I stopped looking and counting after 100. I'm too scared to see how much I've spent on knives the last couple of years.

Nice collection you've got there. You strike me as a flipper kind of guy ;) That Olamic with what seems to be GID is pretty sick. In the flipper department, i may try my hand at a Spyderco Southard soon.

I'm definately a flipper guy, but I'm a huge CRK fan too. My Insingo Seb and Zaan' are still in my top favorites. Their simplicity is really something to appreciate. And yes, that's GITD MoonGlow on the wayfarer.

I studied physics and mathematics in college (yet I work construction:rolleyes:) so all the little intricacies of a flipper really fascinate me. On the contrary, it amazes me how CRK can make such a precise knife like the Zaan and only hold it together with only 2 screws!

Can't go wrong with the Southard! Great steel, amazing ergonomics, and of course that great spyderco quality we all love:)

Missing a few - but pretty close (apologies for the poor picture quality):

Nice! I just counted up at 118 knives... about 80 of them traditionals... and a bunch of random ones that I don't really care that much about, so it's time to thin the herd, I like how you've directed your collection, David.

Moderns that I actually carry (most are in storage) - these all have deep carry clips, and the two spyderco's have non-stock scales. My Street Beat didn't make it into the picture.

And here are most of my traditionals, and the few fixed blades I carry (GEC Bird and trout, vintage sharpfinger, and a GL Drew B&T) - the ones in the smaller cigar box get the most use, but I carry most all of these but a few of the older more fragile ones. 1890s-1920s - Sorry they are not spread out to get a better look. Someday I'll have a better storage solution as well.

I am just as fascinated with the CRK's. One day, i'll probably have a small sebenza insingo. The Southard will be much sooner than that, though! Good to know that we probably appreciate the same things. I'm on my last quarter of Mechanical Engineering in college. It's one thing to love knives like everyone else but a totally different experience being aware of the details and theory within all these designs and materials.

Dwindling.
I am using a friends advice. I have a knife box with 9 knives in it. I cannot put a new knife in the box until one comes out.
It's working... so far.

I thought the customs deserved their own separate shot:

The top four are by Andre Thorburn, the next two are by John Arnold, then Steve Dunn, a Todd Davison swayback, a Bruce Bump feather damascus, a Rick Dunkerley damascus sowbelly, & a Todd Davison 2-blade. I carry and use them all.

Bonafide Thorburn lovin' in here! I have an honest question: Is that the slightest recurve i see on the Thorburn? Does that make it difficult for you to strop/sharpen the curved edge? I used to have a SOG Vulcan with a serious recurve and i could never get it sharp after it dulled.

Thorburn is a genius :) More are on the way… There is a very slight recurve to the first and third models - I use a ceramic honing rod to touch them up after use, I haven't needed to do anything else to them after getting the initial edge set by a professional sharpener.

You have some nice knives posted here. Thank you!

This is a good idea too. I have heard of it before when it came to owning objects. (I have used it in my own life when it came to stuff.)

Do you leave out your axe if you own one or more of them too? An axe, hatchet and/or tomahawk should not have to be counted in when it comes to knives! :) I do not count mine!
