Heading out to the farm today got to check with the Amish to see when construction starts. New shop coming soon!

So apparently this Snark thing is still happening...

Hi everyone :)

Yo JT!
Yeah it's here. Daizee broke it a few times but he's been away so its working for now.

Got a wild hair and went shopping for a single action revolver. Saw some nice ones but none that were quite what I wanted. One shop had a ruger Super Blackhawk with a 3 3/4" barrel and bisley grips. I really prefer the more traditional style both in looks and feel so I passed that one up. Found a used .44 mag Ruger Vaquero, 5.5" barrel blued finish for $600 but there computer was down and they couldn't run the background check. I decided to take my chances and not have them hold it, I'll check back later in the week and I'll probably buy it if it's still there as they are hard to find. Finally I came aross a pawn shop with an Interams .44 mag. I liked the larger grips on it and it was in good shape but a cursory search on my phone showed they didn't have a great reputation and they wanted $530 frim for it which isn't much less than a Ruger. I told her I'd mull it over and then she dropped some BS line about it being a great deal, Cabela's has them for way more and they actually come in that shop to buy their used guns for their stores. Second and last time I'll ever set foot in that shop, stuff's overpriced and now they're giving me lines.

If nothing else I can always order in the one I want.

In case any BeckerHeads have yet to notice the Globetrotter.

Hi everyone :)

Welcome back JT!

Too many words...not enough pictures...

(Seems like the first store could have called in the NICS if their computer was down. Last I checked, telephones still worked.)

He said he'd have to call it in but for whatever reason he couldn't do it right then and there, probably because he was on the phone trying to straighten the computers out. Honestly the guy was getting on in years and was mumbling and I wasn't quite sure what he was saying exactly and I'm not convinced he had a firm grasp of the situation. I wasn't in a hurry to buy it anyway so I went on to the next shop. I figure if a store doesn't want to take my money there's no need to argue.

you might want to give that Biseley a second chance -- not the prettiest, but one of the most comfortable shooting .44s I've handled.

Amen...
I do it all the time. The wife gives me hell when there's a deal on something and I walk. Unless it's something I can't pass up, like stupid deal,...I'm not begging someone to take my money or jumping through hoops.

It doesn't feel bad, and I've heard it helps mitigate felt recoil some, but it feels a lot like a double action. A big part of a single action for me is the feel and the way it naturally points for me. I have a S&W 629 and if I'm going to get a gun that feels like a double action I might as well get another 629.

Pretty much. I'm kinda reconsidering that Vaquero anyway. I know they're pretty desirable and it's a nice gun but in a hard kicker I want the larger grip frame and it felt like it had the smaller one, plus I want the larger adjustable sights on a gun I might carry for defense in the woods. I'm thinking I'm going to hold out for the Super Blackhawk I want and also get something that replicates the original SAA more. A shop in Colorado springs has a Pietta for $360 in .357mag so ammo will be a little easier on the wallet. Would be nice to find a convertible in .357 and 9mm. When I could find .22 ammo I would shoot the crap out of my Heritage Rough Rider. BTW if you want a good .22 revolver for cheap get a Rough Rider. I really like that gun.

Happy B-day!

You mean being attacked with silly string, watching reruns of Bonanza, and riddling a stump with bullets isn't how most people do it? :D

Thanks!

Go get a driver's licence and then drive by the house of the cutest freshmen in your school.

That would be awkward seeing as school is in my own house and I'm the only student. :p

Happy birthday, D! FYI, it's not supposed to feel different all at once. It happens quite gradually until you're waking up as a 50 year old and you think, I don't feel that much older than when I was 16...

Thanks! Is that when you're supposed to do something crazy and break your hip?

Truth on the waking up in middle age and still thinking you are 16. And then taking Advil for days while your body tells your mind it's an idiot.

Happy birthday Dawson.

I prefer Aleve. :D

Thanks!

mmm, i woke up in a 16 yo once.

wait, they made that into a movie.

old guy wishes he was young :D

very confusing.

the smart thing to do it fake it, keep the young body, knowing what you know, and living to 150, until the next medical breakthroughs

Not sure about 150 years but I hope to at least make it to 80. ;)
