I am going to buy a BNIB TM SK5. I have read about the possibility of finding a counterfeit. Other than from CS, what website could I purchase a real TM from. One of the best prices I have found is from cutleryshoppe.com for 129.00. I'm not sure if this place is legitimate.

I was going to purchase from CS on amazon but they jacked up their price to 170 this week.

I have not found any BNIB in the exchange section on the forum. Any suggestions?

What does TM stand for? Timothy MacIntosh? Two Malaguenas? Tired Mugger? Trail Master?
What does CS stand for? Counter Strike? Cummerbund Salesman? Cutlery Shoppe? Cold Steel?

TM = Trailmaster
CS= Cold steel

I saw these abbreviations used in many other threads so I thought these were generally used.

Any other suggestions on where to purchase?

Thank you Dorito Monk for expressing my exact feelings, regarding use of acronyms and abbreviations!!!! It is such a pain in the rear, to find I have no idea what is being written, because of their use. Regardless how common the usage may be, I'm fairly certain, there are lots of folks new to the forum that are unfamiliar with their usage, and don't understand why they need to do research, just to understand a post. Sorry if it seems like I'm ragging on you in particular Crimsonhooch. This issue has been festering in me since I joined the forum! Now that I've got that off my chest, can someone please tell me what SK5 stands for? Thanks!

SK5 is simply the designation for the steel. Like S30V or D2, it is a standard name, generally provided by the manufacturer.

I prefer to write out terms myself. Not only for new members, but because anything that makes the reader stop to interpret, interferes with the smooth flow of information. Even use of common txt conventions like u and 2 and 4 for you, to, and for, do not show respect for the general reader.
