Where To Buy Used? (other then here)

I typically buy most of my knives here but I have had goo luck with Knife_Swap over at Reddit. They have the standard listings and a "Still Available" thread within the listings. I have also bought a few knives at IG but always from people I know have sold knives before and are respected members.

Just be patient and one will surely turn up here at BF. They come up all the time.

So my grail knife is a Benchmade Griptilian. Not much of a grail considering what you might see around here, but still. I now have a summer job so I have some extra income, and feel the time to secure one has come.

Now I need to figure out where I want to get one. So, my question is regarding where to buy a used one, other then here? This is the first place I look, but as of late I haven't seen any, and I don't want to buy new because it's just too much. Also would you trust a place like fleaBay? Where else might you look? Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks
I have gone on Instagram for that. It has worked out well for me before, but you do need to be careful who you buy from. It is a slightly riskier place to buy from than on here, but it is a nice way to find knives for sale.

Is the only difference between the Pardue grip and Ritter grip blade geometry/shape? What are the pros and cons of them?
The Ritter has a taller grind. It is not as steep so it's a better slicer. Better steel too.

If you're on facebook there's a couple Benchmade groups there. As long as pics are posted of the knife, you're safe. Fakes get called out quickly and with prejudice.

I strongly disagree with the bold part of the statement. The reason is because on this forum, you have some measure of accountability, the help of moderators when something goes wrong, there is an almost 20 year long collection of knowledge, and in my opinion comparing the Exchange with Instagram is apples and oranges. If you screw someone over here, you don't get to keep on hanging out and blocking people, ignoring them, etc. I think we've all seen that all over most social media from makers and sellers a lot over the past few years.

I don't think we are actually disagreeing here. I 100% agree that BladeForums is a better place to buy/sell, which is why I am going to be using this going forward. But there is enough of an established knife community on Instagram that I feel comfortable buying there. You do need to do your due diligence for sure, but you can message other people to vet a seller, and you can go through someones feed to see how often they sell. It is pretty easy to vet people on Instagram and I think you can safely do business there as long as you are selective about who you deal with.
To be clear BF is going to be my preferred place to buy and sell. But if you are a part of the Instagram knife community I feel you can safely and easily do business there. In some ways it is even easier than on BF, since it is easier to contact a buyer or seller and exchange pictures.
But you are absolutely right, Instagram cannot replace the knowledge base of BF members, and it does not have the established reputation of BF.
