Where to find a Higonokami in Japan

Nice knives, man! I've seen these knives for sale on the popular auction site. Has that changed?

I see them for like 25$ and 10 for shipping on american auction sites. Here you can just walk into a store with a 500 yen coin and walk out with one.

My comment was for those of us Stateside. I just did a search and I see Higos for less than what you quote.

Anyhow, it's cool that your getting the authentic experience in Japan. Have a great time!

Behold!!

Outstanding! :)

I am glad my advice panned out!

It has in more ways then you think. I am finding high quality water stones just in the same section. I plan to go back later for them

Nice!

Take a look at some traditional Japanese Carpenters' Axes also... ;)

And chisels... LOL... I'm getting a little carried away here... :D

I want to! they had some unique tools here but I live in a dorm and I had to do a lot of loop holes just to get a higonokami for "cooking" Don't think I can use my gift of gab to work in an axe.
