Where's the best place to eat in your neck of the woods?

Crazy Burger. They have meat, vegan and everything in between. It is BYOB so you can drink cheap. Also it is near the beach!

French Laundry's okay, but I find it over rated. Been there several times.

Tre Vigne is good, and the Napa Grill (in Rutherford) was always a great time.

There is a new place in my town called The Stilted Kilt, it opened in a an old Bennigans that went out of business a couple of months ago. The place is ridicules all the waitresses are hot and their wearing white knee high socks, very short plaid kilts, plaids bars with a white long sleeve button down shirt that is unbuttoned real low and then tied in a knot Daisey Duke style. The beer is cold, the food is good mostly burgers and the like and the atmosphere is outstanding. THE STILTED KILT, classic. Come on lunch time.

Place on the east side of Baltimore, greasy spoon if there ever was one. Carroll Island Diner, in Chase MD. In a shopping center, but the place has great food. I've had a tuna steak dinner there, and a great latin themed taco salad. With their house dressing, just Kens steak house creamy Italian, it's great. Cheese covered bread, wow. Getting one for my buddy in the hospital tomorrow.

Fuzzy's Taco Shop!!.. Actually it's not even close to the best place to eat in Ft. Worth but it's a great place for cheap Baja style tacos and cheap 18 oz schooners of ice cold beer. The gorgeous TCU coeds ( a block from the TCU campus) that swarm the place about midnight are a very nice bonus, as well. :D

Around here, I'd say the best burgers to be had are at Hamburger Hamlet in Bethesda, MD.

Best seafood? Probably Phillips. They've got locations in Baltimore, DC, and the surrounding 'burbs. Given a choice, I'd pick either the one in Baltimore, or DC only because of the location near water.

Speaking of seafood, if you'd like to get crabbed, there's a place called Robertson's in Pope's Creek, MD. Last time, years ago, when I went there it was an excellent way to spend a weekend afternoon, loaded up to your armpits in fresh caught Maryland blue crabs, steamed just right and covered with Old Bay seasoning. Served with cold beer, I can't think of anything much better than that. Well, at least anything that I can mention and still keep this G rated. Haven't been there in a while, but still hoping the quality is still up there.

Best Greek food? There's Zagat rated Mykonos in Rockville, MD.

Best ribs? Unfortunately I don't think there is a rib place in the DC area that isn't part of a chain that started someplace else, like Famous Dave's or Chili's. They're good, but not unique to this location.

Best steak? Hmmm...I'd like to think I cook that myself. :D

Dude... if you want great ribs in Bethesda go to the Woodmont grill on Woodmont Ave. It used to be a Houston's restaurant but I think it's under new ownership now. Their baby back ribs are friggin' awesome. They are kind of expensive ($25 IIRC) but they are totally worth it. Best beef in town can always be had at the Ruth's Chris in Bethesda or the Ruth's Chris in Baltimore. The Baltimore location has the Havana cigar bar on top of it. When I lived in Simi Valley there was a BBQ place in the middle of town with a green awning on it. It was called Green Acres. On certain days they sell awesome BBQ sandwiches. Also the chain of restaurants one in Moorpark right off the 23 and one in Camarillo right off the 101. Wood Ranch was the name and their tri-tip roast was delicious.

In Modesto CA is Noah's Hofbrau. They serve Chinese food as well as roasts and other American food. They are cheap and have a line in front on weekdays; they are so good. Right in Downtown.

Best place for burgers in California is down South. It is The Hat in Rosemead, CA. Better than In-N-Out but not by much.

Man one thing I really miss about CA are the double-doubles from In N Out.

The best crabs and sea food in Maryland is Jimmy Cantler's in Annapolis on the Severn river. A bit expencive, but worth it. In Ocean City by the comercial docks is The Captains Galley II.

For some great BBQ, there's a little hole in the wall in DC down on lower Wisconson Ave. called Rocklands. Ribs that the meat falls off the bone, and Texas style brisket to kill for.

I found some out of this world fried chicken in a little roadside hole in Damasus Maryalnd, called the Red Rooster. Also some great BBQ at the roadside Citco station in Lisbon Maryland.

In Rockville Maryland is a deli with the best corned beef and pastrami this side of NYC. Brooklands Deli in the Travila shopping center.

Edit: I'm just now reading that they have closed.:(

Just up the road in Concordia, KS is El Puerto (one closer in Beloit but not as good)...really nice Mexican food and you can get out under $30 with a tip for 4 people! Dont care much for fancy eating because I never dress to the occasion, done my fair share around the world in my travels but I like good eating in a smaller business that has a good rep around the county.

A little BBQ place just south of downtown Seattle called "Pecos Pit". Huge pulled pork (or other things) sandwiches with killer sauces. Only seating are the picknick tables out side (yep, even in the rain). Cash only and a line from the minute they open.

Harry's Tavern
Old Las Vegas Road (old US Route 66)
Santa Fe, NM

Great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner without too much damage to your wallet.
On warm days, you can eat out in the backyard garden, under big shade trees.
You also get some VIP sightings, as actor Gene Hackman likes to eat there on occasion.
