Which beckers do you want on you in the zombie appocalypse and why?

warrior, you NEED to remember sometimes the "swooch" of a knife is better than the "bang" of a gun...:)
I don't own a gun. I don't need no stinkin' gun either, haha. All kidding aside, you guys don't really believe this "Zombie apocalypse" crap, do you?

Can't speak for anyone else, but me personally no. However the "zombies" like the ones in that stupid Will Smith movie, where they are not really zombies... THAT could happen, although still... No, just no.

I do. As a Christian....I believe in the final days there will be a time when dead will reanimate. To what extent.....I have no idea. As far as an actual "zombie apocalypse"......well......I think its much closer to being a reality than what the majority believe. Ever heard of rabies? I don't know that we will experience an outbreak of actual walking dead people....but I believe that something along the lines of "28 days later" is certainly possible. Our government.....the CDC.....actually has an article written on the possible stages of a zombie outbreak. They even use the word zombie. I think its partially written in jest.....but it is a real document and without getting too conspiracy theoryish, I think they threw that in there to cover their asses if it does happen.

At any rate.....with the advent of nano technology and the further we delve in to different medicenes and research......I do think a virus that spreads at an alarming rate is something to consider.

Believe in zombies? He** I don't need to believe! I read about them in the news every day! They're not re-animated dead, and for the most part, they don't eat "BRAINZZZZZ," but they certainly are out there preying on the weak and foolish!

If you replace the word Zombie with "heavily armored combatant" the same kind of rules apply ;)

Zombie for a disease / virus outbreak. Heavily armored combatants for when the government decides to try to take our guns and freedom. Is it a possibility? sure. Will it happen in our life time? who knows.

I take comfort in the fact that I know 85% of the populous lacks the same gear and training as I increasing my chances of survival. Like most of us my limiting factor to my preparedness is my lack of of the governments "worthless" paper that passes for currency.

Political rant over....

Should I have my choices on Beckers for that kind of situation I would choose BK-1 or Bk-9, Bk-3, Bk-2, and an 11 / 14 or both ;)

It could happen , you never know

It already did happened a while back...here in the street of san diego we call them bums....they re not very dangerous though and i do feel for them, usually give them a couple buck and they go away to the distance with their glared eyes....

Two words: Bath salts.

Nasty? Check.
Super human strength? Check.
Eating your face? Check.

That!!! Can you give us some specs on your sword?

It's 24" OAL of 1/4" 5160. Blade is about 18" long. I reground the edge to be thicker following the testing at Beckerwest, since it rolled pretty hard in a few places. I think the design works pretty well, and if I do another, it will be in CPM 3V, most likely. No sheath at the moment. Just haven't gotten around to making one for this blade. It would look something like the one on the right in this pic:

Sadly, I have actually discussed this topic with my brother in law. We're both survivalists, blade-nuts and preppers. He doesn't have the love for becker that I do.. simply because he doesn't own one. For the list I chose: the bk9, as it covers a wide range of tasks. From wood and neck chopping to finer camp and field work. The bk10, because it's basically a scaled down bk9. The bk7, for those nasty c.q.c. encounters. And, my ever trusty bk14. I feel naked without the little bugger and it's made of sterner stuff than I'd ever imagined. Quite a useful tool. Still doing more research, but as it stands, that's my list.

Machax and trainwrecker. For backup and utility.

AR or AK with tons of ammmmmmmmmmo for primary, shotgun over other shoulder, Ruger GP100 on my hip (as backup, in case I need to shoot my way back to my rifle for some reason), Beckers in backpack for when ammo is scarce or utility as needed.
