For me, it's easier to operate then the standard axis lock is.

Yes that is correct.
Yes, both push buttons share 1 compression spring.
The action on this is awesome.

too many knives...my fixed Adamas and Osbourne just made it back into rotation. I forgot how burly the Adamas is and how cutty cutty the Osbourne is.
