Which Benchmade are you carrying today?

I picked up this Rift a few months ago when @RamZar and palonej palonej hipped us to a wicked low price on these at SMKW. I haven't really carried it since, but I got some new paracord last night and hung a tail on this one. I'll give this baby a couple days in the pocket as a work carry. It's certainly beefy enough and the long straight run and generous belly are a good configuration for carpentry. With the stout reverse tanto and broad blade, the Rift is kinda like a 940 on steroids. o_O

710D2 with polished blade today.

You sure picked a gorgeous knife to carry back up on the picture horse, Joe. Love that polished sterile blade and the clip to boot. Did you do that work yourself? Really sweet, man! :D

Too many hours spent in getting that 710D2 the way I wanted it. A friend helped the early process, I finished it myself. Gave it to a friend in the end who REALLY wanted it. Pay it forward works you know!:thumbsup:

IMG_1532.JPG Well the only BM I've ever owned is the grip which is one of my favorite knives. So I took the plunge when I saw this this guy on the exchange for a great price. I just received it today and have been messing with it and im impressed so far. The only thing I've noticed with it is my thumb studs are really uneven in length which isn't a deal breaker just bothers my OCD.

I've always been taken with the deep luster of D2 steel. The blade on my user 710 "rescue knife" with its remaining small pits and a couple light spots of discoloration still has a beautiful deep sheen to it.

That polish on yours just brings out the best of the best.

I'll stick with the Rift again today, but I ended up hating that lanyard I tied up and posted yesterday. The orange/black cord looked ok for color, but was wicked stiff. I tried partial and complete gutting to no avail so I cut it off and tied up a new one with forest green cord and blue glass bead. Here it is with another of my 710s with its fresh tail.
