Which Blade release are you looking forward to the most?

Were you able to handle an NMFBM at the show for comparison, or is that impression based on your memory? No offense intended, just trying to gather data.

I think it would be hard to predict the feel of the LBNMSHBM compared to other blades based only on what we have been told. The LB treatment affords Jerry the ability to fine tune the balance of a knife, whether he is trying for blade heavy, neutral, or handle heavy.

The NMFBM is a dedicated chopper, but I wonder if Jerry calibrated the feel of the LBNMSHBM to be more neutral, as more of a big, all-purpose knife?

Just to add, the NMFBM comes in .25, .275 and some in .30 so that would play a part when comparing these two blades. I have a NMFBM in .25 and had a .276 and the weight difference was huge, like day and night.

Hopefully my proxy scored a Rattle hawk for me. I will be eyeballing the pork shank pretty hard if they are not a blade only release. Looks like a great field blade. War Dog style but thinner.

You nailed it. The lbshbm is nuetral and much lighter and quicker than the nmfbm. I can hardly wait for that one.
The hawkeye daggers are amazing. Saucezq and i ordered a set as wedding presents to each other, thanks to my brothers kaak and dericdesmond for their cards.
The sword is fricking amazing.
Actually all the new releases are amazing. Now i'm going outside to wait for the mailman (o:
He's gonna need help with the box.

Please be more specific, what blade thickness NMFBM are you comparing the NMSHBM to, and have you had a .24-.25 NMFBM in hand? I just want more info because per my #41 post there is a difference with the NMFBM depending on blade thickness. If anyone has a .25 NMFBM and put the NMSHBM in hand at blade please chime in.

Pork Shank, Tan with red liners
TGM, Tan on Tanker
Scrap Max
I should have about a year or so to think about the NMSHBM and NMFSH before they become available.

I think the NMSHBM will be up in a few weeks for sale.

I think the NMSHBM's difference was significant enough even to my memory of the regular NMFBM that I noticed it immediately, but the last time I felt a regular NMFBM was a while ago, so this might just be speculative. There was an NMFBM variant at the show I got to hold that wasn't really standard, but I don't think the variations threw it too far off other than that it was 0.27" thick (the "unbearably heavier" NMFBM thickness).

Who knows how light the LBNMSHBM will be, or even if the NMSHBM from the show is the LBNMSHBM we've all been waiting for. I am confident in saying that the NMSHBM however felt really light and more evenly balanced compared to other Battle Mistresses. If that was the LBNMSHBM, I wouldn't be surprised if your guess is correct at all. I personally felt a Basic 11 with harder Micarta handles, a bit more even balance, and a bit more weight.

Compared to my nmfbm from the original release. Pretty sure it was .25" stock, .27" with the coating which i traded away because it was so darn heavy. The nmshbm felt very much like my 1 of 300 shbm.

I thought the Elmax SY offering to be the most interesting ... a complete change for Bussekin "geometry" ... a proper "cutting" profile to go with the larger "chopper" blades ... feels like the group has embraced the concept of "best of breed" completely ... the smaller knives will now perform as good as anyone else's and not be restricted to a profile that is based on not being able to break the knife ... for these reasons I thought it was a real milestone ...

1. LBSHBM
2. LBSHBM
3. NMFSH if they make an LE in .25 (or change the coated proto to .25 :) )
4. LBSHBM
5. That Giant sword I impulsively pre-ordered a few hrs prior to the shows end (could no longer resist temptation)

Good point. My NMFBM is one of the early CG, so 0.25", and that is more than heavy enough.

Sounds very promising.

First, I NEED to get the Kill Devil Sniper Hawk. I Really hope they come out for reg offering, I just spent way too much money on a satin NMSFNO to grab one on the FS forums right now. My second is the NMSHBM.

Simply put... ALL of them... The NMFBM is the wrong blade to compare it to anyhow, kind of like a semi truck with a 40" trailer vs an f-550 with a 40" trailer. :p I have yet to see an NMFBM that was anywhere near as light as the NMSHBM at 21.5 oz. I have held all three thicknesses of the NMFBM you mentioned, as well as the BWM's, FBM's & FSH's in their different thicknesses. The closest comparison would be a cross between a BWM LE around 23 oz and a Basic 11 around 17 oz in weight while the balance is unique, kind of like the LBTG. The magnum handles are not over thick and felt good to everyone around me with different sized hands that held it. It is a really good design. The lack of a skull crusher is a huge plus for a woods carry user knife and the extra length from that was shifted forward to give more blade length.

Can you tell that Tim warmed up to that one? LMAO. He only excites me more about this soon to be epic offering!!!! BRING IT!

Very interesting, Tim. Thanks for the comparisons via weight. By looks alone, I would have never thought this was LIGHTER than a BWM LE. Gonna be awesome!
