another vote for the NMSFNO here. 8" blade, light enough to carry over long distances, good belly, good enough for batoning and chopping, comfortable handle... I what else does a lonely survivor need?

Another +1 for the NMSFNO
The NMSFNO is 8 inches, and I can tell you it has plenty of chopping power, but it's not huge Knife.
The NMSFNO large enough to chop well and be a great all around camp knife, small enough that it's actually reasonably practical to carry it.
The NMSFNO is perfect!...perfect balance, perfect length, just an elegant design and frightening beauty.
I chop 2 hours straight & I had zero blister with my NMSFNO...be careful becouse some guy can find hot spot and having blister "at the same time" in less than 1 minute:eek::rolleyes::D

Can't believe nobody said boss jack yet! Very strong but small enough to do fine tasks...boss jack aaaaall the way!

The New Sarge 7, I would pick it over the NMSFNO because supposedly it will chop to par with the NMSFNO its lighter, no NM treatment so you can strike a fire steel and small enough to do small tasks.
But if zombies are involved, The NMFBMLE, best chopper other than those super rare ones and that KZ which
would be a biatch to sharpen in the field. I have also liked the sarsquach, I just wish it was a little thicker, mabey .22

BEAR CUB!!!!

Just kidding. Id say my BWM which I find very quick for its size and with the choil i have done some fine work with it in the past. But if you want to be realistic I always have a folder on me or my leatherman charge so I would essentially be surviving with 2 to 3 blades :D

I always wonder though how effective a the BWM would be at removing a bullet?:eek::barf:...So that is why I just bought a scrapper wiener dog for a bugout bag :D

My current favorite is my SFNO LE with red/blk handle and a 6" saber grind blade. I feel confident that it can handle most tasks, but I think I would feel even more confident with my NMSFNO with it's 8" convex blade. There have been so many Busse made knives with 6" to 8" blades, it's hard to narrow it down, to one knife.

Only one, eh?

If they are piggybacked they count as one, right? In that case, I'd go with my B-11 & BAD, that is until I get a piggyback setup for my Basic 10 LE & Basic 4 LE.

If I really had to choose just one for the terrain that I like to wander, it'd be my NMSFNO. There's not much the NMSFNO can't do well enough; it is definitely a jack of all trades as far as knives go.

Change the location, change the knife. If I was going into a Jungle and didn't have a Machete, I'd bring the B-11 without a doubt.

Living in a sub tropical area and choosing a Busse that I own as I can't speak for a knife that I have not used, I would have to go with a BWM. Enough size to effectively chop and penetrate thick brush. The ability to choke up on the choil and thinner blade make it manageable for smaller tasks.

Without having the b8 for a 1 knife setup it would be between my nmsfno and sarsquatch.

I think i would go with sarsquatch because nmsfno has already gotten so many votes and the thinner blade on the squatch would be better for delicate work, and it can still chop, baton - the swedge will tear up your batoning stick but such is life.

Squatch on the left, outlaw on the right.

Still waiting on Jerry to invent the light saber. That's my choice.

Until then... NMSFNO is a pretty good choice.

Love the raptor scales, and the ZT's were just simply awesome. Always lusted after the ZTNO but never could pry one out of anyhogs hands.
