That's a good question lol, why use a HDFK for this, or why such hilarious tasks and quantities?…but, why?
As to why, we had a product just hit its expiration date and for the sake of product destruction, cutting and dumping was way faster than twisting the caps off. Also I was IWB my HDFK today, so it just happened to be the knife I had on me.
For the labels they needed to be burnt, again product destruction, and throwing in a solid roll takes several hours to burn. Cutting it in half and fanning them in handfuls at a time makes them burn up significantly quicker.
The short answer is quality regulations and procedures
