Getting some carry time in with the HDFK in to get used to it. It actually carries quite comfortably for a large knife. The rounded and contoured ergonomics definitely help with that.

Was carrying the DEK3 all day. I moved the ulticlip to the other side of the sheath and now it's super comfortable with shorts, either IWB or right pocket. I realized I'm heavy on the tekloks so I ordered 3 more ulticlips for options on other pieces.

My new DEK1 worked really well processing large pieces of pre-split firewood into kindling and tinder for a campfire to make s’mores.

I preferred to use it for opening packages of food vs my pocket knives because it was easier to clean it off as well. It was a little thick for slicing onions and tomatoes for burger night, but I had to try

After 6 days and 5 nights it still looks and feels new. Overall a great 4th of July weekend. I only wish my Mummert clips had arrived before we left, instead of on Monday the 3rd.

Of the plethora of knives that I brought camping I only needed and used 4 of them - this DEK1 for wood and heavy work, my Benchmade Saddle Mountain in S90V for food prep and pocket carry (thin, slicey), my Benchmade Shootout and my Hinderer XM-18. I didn't pull out any of my 3 different Morakniv, my Swamp Rat, my CJRB fixed blade (previously used for kitchen duty), my Ochs Works Solarstorm, Mini Griptilian, or my SAK.

The DEK1 took over for my RatManDu, and the Saddle Mountain took over for my Moraknivs (clean work).
