Gusbuster ...Who made the sheath for you DEK 1 ..I like the horizontal draw
That is an awesome pic!!!!
Down here, a walking boom stick is the more effective solutionwe get going at first light, every day 1- 2 hours up the hill. Run into bears roughly once every three weeks. I usually have a DEK1, dagger or Basic5 on me but today I took the HDFK. Harvested a walking stick as a result, which is something I've been meaning to do on account of the bears. But this time of year the wolves come down from the hills to hunt due to the snow, and they're worth keeping an eye out for. Buddy of mine's little dog got preyed on and lived- $30k vet bill later and still skull fragments in its brain. Having a staff is pretty good preparedness for wildlife like that. Big loud dog is a blessing and a curse.

This is tricolor canvas on a dek1. Doesn't look quite as impressive as on an fk. Im adding a coat of polymerized linseed oil to mine. Ill try to remember to post pics.View attachment 2462216
Look at the photo posted byIIRC, the FK2 handles sharing similar alphabetical letters were actually tri-rag micarta. My memory is not as sharp as it used to be but I don't recall these tri-colors on any FK2s but they were offered on the EDC patterns. They do look a bit flat in your photo! Is that a buffed or an unburied set? A friend shared a photo with me with the same buffed handles on a Mark modified DEK-1 and those colors were popping in his presented photo.
Look at the photo posted byferider . I'm pretty sure that's an fk2 and those are tricolor canvas scales, not tricolor rag.
Mine is buffed. Once the polymerized linseed oil cures, I'll post another photo.

Yeah, I like the tri-rag, cuz it kinda goes with Multicam.Makes me sad to dig up older photos of CPKs which are no longer with me, but here are the 2 "tri" variant scales on the aforementioned patterns. The trim-color definitely looks more flat than the tri-rag. Admittedly, my tri-rag was really trippy looking!
