Which filters to get for this 3M 6800 full facepiece respirator?

I change masks when I can smell fumes or whatever. "Blowthrough" I think is the technical term.

Glad ta hear it, and thanks for the extra input on the pink p100 filters, maybe I'll just keep using those when I orger more and only use the cartridges for special occasions :) If you don't mind, could you list some of the things that knifemakers use that produce a good amount of OV (organic vapors?) that I really SHOULD use the good cartridges for? I'm also glad ta hear about the pink filters working well for these things because I really don't get around to making handles that often, as I rarely get that far into the knife build process due to screwing up grinds and forgings etc. then scrapping them.. :thumbdn:

I can easily set up my bevel jig but I NEED to get good and efficient at free handing my bevels, it's just one of those things I feel I need to do. I feel like I'm taking a fair amount of the skill outa the process by using bevel jigs (nothing against others that use them, this is just a personal thing) but I have shaky hands and as well as some ocd issues that give me trouble standing still at the grinder, :o but I won't give up! :encouragement: :) But annyway lol.. Thanks again ;)

And
If you do good prep for glue up, you are using acetone, then also have fumes from the epoxy

No harm in having that OV orgainic vapour or formaldehyde filter, it's just a bit of active charcoal.

What The Count said. But in reality nothing we use, in the quantities we use is going to produce anywhere near a ppm that OSHA would require OV protection. Particulate? You betcha. However I'm a belt and suspenders, better safe than sorry type so I use the OV cartridges when there is the remotest chance I'll be in contact with it. Cheap insurance I say.
