Which Folders Do You OWN and LOVE, but DON'T Carry?

MOD 875 plunge button lock fighter. Solid knife with great lock up and a secondary slide lock to ensure it won't unlock while in grip. But it came dull as dull gets and in spite of my best efforts on diamond and ceramic it will not take a edge on its last 25% towards the tip. The straight portion of the blade is very sharp and for some reason the curved tip is still lacking.

Leatherman Blast:
I really like this multi-tool but I just don't need a multi-tool everyday.

Kershaw Leek:
I do carry one while at work because it's small and elegant so it does not scare too many folks.
And it's light-weight so it rides well on my scrub pants (hospital uniform).
But When I'm not at work I prefer a larger handle and a larger blade.

Custom Buck 110:
Possible my very favorite knife.
BUT, it is heavy and definitely needs the pouch, but I don't always want to wear a belt...especially in the summer.

Cold Steel Voyager X2:
This thing is FRICKING HUGE!!!!
I love pulling this one out around my friends because the reaction it gets is always hilarious, but noway would I carry it everyday.

Spyderco Toad:
A very cute and clever design, but just too small for an EDC.
More of a conversation piece.

I carry everything I have:

Bob Dozier Folding Hunter in antique elephant ivory, Sebenza, Dozier Companion or Dozier Bird & Trout will be on me every day.

BM 940 CF in D2 is my camping/woods knife.

Spyderco Native or Dragonfly go in my luggage when I fly, depending on the blade-length laws of my destination.

BM Apparition is for dress, and Schrade T80 I inherited from my Grandfather is my Sunday-go-to-meetin' slipjoint.

Two that come to mind, that I love but don't carry, are my Spyderco Black Para-Military and my Buck Custom 110 with Waterbuffalo scales and a BG-42 blade. To me, these knives are the pinnacle of quality and beauty.

I love my Spyderco Police, but I don't EDC it very much.

Why?

It's just too big of a folder. I stay out of trouble, but I still feel like the Police would attract too much negative attention.

I love my spyderco lum chinese folder. Probably my favorite knife in my collection, but I can not bring myself to carry it very much. I am affraid I will loose it or damage it, and it will be too hard to find a replacement. Aslo I love my SAK swiss champ, but it is way too heavy to carry.

I try to carry all of my knives from time to time, they are to be used whenever possible:thumbup:

But er, I really like my Cold Steel Latin Machete but it doesn't have a sheath and walking around with it is not low key:D Grim Reaper it is though:eek:

Spyderco Salsa with cranberry red scales.

Righty tip-down and sticks out of my pocket like a sore thumb.

I have a variety of users that I switch around for EDC...but I do have a few slipjoints that I have for when I go out to eat at a nice place or special occasions...where a medium to large tactical folder is just not appopriate...but...they do not see much action at all...I am hopefuly getting a small sebbie soon, which I know will take the spot and my dozen or so folders will start to get dusty...lol

This one:

Not sure why but I can't use it. I had another one just like it but sold it for the same reason. It's just too pretty.

Kershaw Offset :to big for EDC, and to big of a favorite in my book.

Kershaw Lahar: to elegant and i wouldnt want to loose it either

I wouldn't want to list all the folders I own and love but don't carry...

They don't get out much because my darn Benchmade AFCK or 710D2 always jumps into my pocket first!

Stay sharp,
desmobob

My stockman folders. I love the classics slipjoints, but I already EDC a large locking folder and a LM Micra, so the stockman doesn't do much the others can't except look pretty.

Spyderco BG42 Military--For one, it's way too large for EDC. Replacement would be expensive over time and I ten to 'knifesterbate.' that would quickly wear out the knife's liner.

BM 806D2--great knife but too too large for carry. And, after it was disco'd, too expensive for replacement.

Don't you wish you lived in Britain?:(
Yes, they're doing the same thing with knives that they did with guns, but you have to do things like that to get the murder rates down. If you didn't have laws against guns and knives, criminals would be using them left and right, eh? Then no one would be safe.

You can still carry a Spyderco if you round the tip of the blade and grind off the edge. There are some S30V butterknives available also, I'm told. They're perfectly legal, too, as long as you have a hot roll in one hand and some cold butter in the other.

Actually, it's a sad state of affairs. But...does anyone over there even have a hint it's all foolishness?

As far folders go, I confess that I don't carry my Mayo TNT. It's just that perfect, IMO, and I'd hate to ding it. I also don't carry my CF Civilian. It's a bit wider when closed than I like for a folder in the pocket, it has a very specific design and usage focus that's not suited for utility, and it'd be very hard to replace if it was lost.

I might carry either one to a knife show, but that'd be about it.
