Which for first Zero Tolerance knife?

If you really want a flipper then I have to go with the majority and say the 562 is the way to go. If not, give the 630 some serious consideration. I have never met a ZT I did not like, so I am sure regardless of your decision you will be happy!

Wow all 3 of them in one pic [emoji50] yeah i love that "banana" shape blade and i might prefer the stability of the bronze washers over ball bearings. But then again, ive never had a ball bearing knife. Such hard decisions..

I also went with a ZT 0562 as my first ZT. Was in the same boat as you, wanting my first ZT and also my first titanium folder. Not disappointed in the least. A very close runner-up for me was the 0801.

As others mentioned, you could also go with the 0566 if you want a similar style to the 0562 for a better price. Slightly smaller, assisted opening, and not titanium, but certainly a good choice from what I've seen others say.

I did consider the 0566 but.. It feels not special enough i dont know.. A frame lock of ZT's caliber i would prefer a titanium. Only of liner locks then i eould prefer stainless hence the ZT350 being one of my options. Thanks for your feedback!

I would go 562 given the 3 options you provided. If you want something a little smaller yet still extremely capable, take a look at the 450. There are a few versions available and they're all amazing flippers. Definitely worth a look

Don't pay the extra $$ for ZT0562CF M390 because M390 is basically the same as CTS 204P.

Of those, I have he 350 and 630.

Of all of my ZT and Kershaws, the 350 seems to find itself in my pocket more often. It's before my favorite work knife, and I have used it plenty hard since February when I bought it.

I've had the 630 for a couple months. It's taken my a bit of time to get used to the wave feature. The titanium frame lock makes it hard to thumb the blade open using the disk because I find myself squeezing it to tightly. The waves nice, but you need to be careful drawing the knife. It'll wave open with very little effort. Still, it's a gorgeous pocket tank. It probably won't dethrone my 909 as my favorite, but it is a take slimmer and easier to draw from my pocket with the smooth titanium scale over the G10.

Here's my wheel of fun. Print it, spin it, close eye's and point. You'll love whatever you land on.

But have to echo others, of the three listed in the OP, def stay with the 562(CF if possible). It is the most versatile design of the three, especially if it's your first ZT. But I'm not sure where you may go from there. Either you'll become an addict like some, or you'll be so spoiled for every other blade, that you just stop buying and be satisfied with just "amazing". ;)

Im sure i will get addicted haha. Thank you very much everybody

A quick question to everyone who recommended the 0562, have you every experienced problems with the ball bearing pivot? Because the harder steel balls running around on the softer titanium might create a track that would deepen over time right?

No issues here. I've flipped my 562CF more times than any knife probably should ever be (bit-o-OCD). [emoji16]. But mine is still absolutely perfect. However, only the lock side is titanium (and can't remember when I had it apart, but think there may be a washer over the caged bearings on that side at least). The mark side is stainless steel, not Ti. At least on my CF version.

To my knowledge, the only knife I've ever had that ran ball bearings directly on Titanium (without some form of washer), is an HTM Kirby Lambert Snap. And the only issues I've had with that one was a bit of lock stick when new. The flipping action has only gotten better with break-in and has developed a small groove in the Ti. Blade and lockup still rock solid.

I have a ZT0562CF in CTS-204P and a ZT0566 in M390. The 0562 came in so stiff I almost couldn't get it to open at first. Friends with smallish fingers can't open the knife. It takes a hell of a pull to get it open but it is getting better. To say it has a strong detent is an understatement. My 0566 was a bit easier to open out of the box, not much, but a bit. I tried to de-assist it and no go. It doesn't have a strong enough detent to flip open, only get about half way open when you try to flip it. I think the spring is really stiff and hopefully will relax a bit over time. Fingers crossed! If I had to keep only one, and they are the only two ZT's I currently own, I'd have to go with the 0562. It's a great knife and maybe a bit large for some peoples pockets but not mine. But if I know what I know now and could go back in time, I'd buy a ZT0456. Same basic size as the 0566 and just a tad smaller than the 0562. No matter which one you choose, you will get a knife that is well made and will last a long time!

I think you d be happy with the 0350. I deassisted mine and I really enjoy opening it either of two ways. Compact , a tremendous slicer and rugged. Cheaper is a bonus.
Great work knife.

I have a ZT 562CF and think it is a very nice knife, reasonable weight, functional blade shape, comfy grip and IMO a 10 on the cool scale. I also have several other ZT's but not the 630 yet. I do have a couple Emerson's though and think the "wave" is the absolute fastest way to open a knife, maybe just not as much fun as a flipper. As soon as I find a nice example of a 630 on the used market though I will have one, and if you are having trouble deciding now, I see both in your future as well.

I have the 0630 and it hasn't left my pocket since I got it almost 2 months ago. The titanium makes it really light for its size, and I definitely think the Emerson opener is a plus! I vote for that

I absolutely love my ZT 0801 I just go a few weeks ago. It is my first ZT as well. It's $149.99 on Knifecenter.
