xmas is coming up and im asking 4 a knife. im looking at a Strider and a Sebenza but i want 2 know which is more tactical b4 i buy. they both seem pretty sharp 2 me.

Define "tactical".

They're both heavy duty knives, the Sebbie is more refined and Striders are generally (even) tougher. If you're looking for a defensive knives, there are better designs available - that is not to say that the Sebenza or a Strider would be useless in such a role, far from it.

Do you want a folder or a fixed blade? What will you be using it for?

After your answer i can tell you more.

MrMojo was kidding, don't buy a Dork Ops knife. They're knock-offs and their QC is very questionable.

Quality control.

If you told us about the knife's intended purpose, we could give you a worthwhile reply.

Both Sebenzas and Striders are very expensive, if you want bang for the buck you should look at spyderco or benchmade, maybe Emerson.

well my wife is buying me the xmas present but wants 2 get me something really really nice and i know those 2 r very good knives i just want 2 know that 4 the money its going 2 b very sharp, very sturdy, and extremely tactical.

i dont know, since i can't afford these... but i wouldn't really call either knife a bang for your buck.
mabye a big damn sparkle from your pretty penny would be more like it

*got beat to the punch

What do you mean by "tactical"??

Also, why not type the words "two, to, Be, Are, for" instead of writing like that? It doesnt really take a lot of extra time.

haha, just go for the sebenza.

if you don't know what kind of 'tactical' you want, just get something pretty

I already asked you to define "tactical"...if you don't do that, we won't be able to recommend a knife that truly meets your requirements.
Do you want to carry it for self-defense? Something you can abuse as a prybar? Something that merely looks very "tactical"?
Does it absolutely have to be a folder or is a fixed blade OK?

thats true, now that i think of it, we don't even know if you are planning to EDC it!

I think we have to assume he wants a folder for EDC. Since he was asking sort of Strider versus Sebenza it seems reasonable to assume that.

First I will say, go for the Strider. You seem to be sold on the whole "Tactial" thing. Why? Are you just into that kind of thing, or are you really in need of that type of tool? Either way you can't go wrong. I have owned quite a few of both, but the only ones I still have are Strider knives. Just so you understand the whole tactical craze is purely hype, and doesn't mean that you can stop the commies from crossing our borders because it is clipped in your pocket, but if you want a kick but strong knife that looks cool, get the Strider. You won't be unhappy. E-mail me if you want a good place to get info.

Whoa! Hold everything. There is a very big difference between "tactical" and "extremely tactical". "Tactical" is like ninjas and pirates. "Extremely Tactical" is more like Batman and Klingons.

But "Double Secret Tactical" is like Super Sayans and Jedis. In fact, we're really not even supposed to talk about D.S.T. on an open forum like this.
