Round 1:
Busse:
NMFSH - believe it or not, the Fusion handle did not do it for me; I sold off my NMFBM right after I got it and passed up opportunities to get an FBM after trying it out. I mostly used my Basic 11 & Dog Fathers until I got the MOAD and NMFSH. For whatever reason, the NMFSH made me like the Fusion handle. I think the balance of the knife has everything to do with it. I am in love with the NMFSH. Busse hit it out of the park with the design, in my opinion.
It amazes me that a knife that is 5/16ths of an inch thick feels so nimble and bites so deeply. I measured the thickness behind the edge of all of many of my bigger knives, including my TGLB, NMSFNO, B-11, DF, Regulator, MOAD, ASH, et. al. and the NMFSH is the thinnest at ~.04". My user is still as sharp as it was from the factory after many a beatings and there is no edge deformation, so the edge definitely isn't too thin.
It doesn't look quite this new anymore:
Swamp Rat:
This is a tough call for me, but I'm gonna go ahead and say the Kill Devil Sniper Hawk is my favorite.
I moved into a new condo with my lady on March 1st. The couch that I had from my old apartment was just a little bit too big to get through the doorway. We left it on the side of the road and put up a Craigslist ad for a free couch. After a few days, the couch was surprisingly still there. It had rained the night before, so I talked to my gal about what we should do. She gave the KDSH the go-ahead and I went to work. 30 minutes later, we had a trash bin full of suede, stuffing, and wood. Unfortunately, I relied on my gal to take pictures of the event, which was a bad idea since she reformatted her phone the next day due to problems she was having. I recently got a new tempered glass desk for my office. Being that my old one is made of wood, I may get another shot at furniture destruction if nobody grabs it off of Craigslist
.
Here it is when I first got it with my gal's tiger warden:
Scrap Yard:
Although nowadays I use the MOAD more often, the Dogfather will forever be my favorite Scrap Yard knife. It is the knife that drew me in to Busse and Kin. When I first started going up north for camping/hiking/survival training, my friend would let me use his Dogfather. Even though I had a junglas that I loved at the time, I would always ask my buddy to use his DF because I loved the handle and the speed at which I could delimb or chop whatever wood we needed for the camp. It wasn't long before I wanted my own. It took me around 4 months to find one, however. Since then, I've owned 6 of them, including a few special ones like a Jungle Green coated LE, a Muddy & Tan CG, the DDF and the original LE.
Can't find any pictures on my phone of them.
Again:
Busse:
Basic-11
We've been through a lot together. The B-11 has been at my side for a while now; I carried it on every trip I went on for around 6 months or so when I first got it. I'm letting it take a rest for a bit while I break in a few others.
