Which kind of knife guy are you?

Seriously, where did this "Case Collector" nonsense come from? Have I been missing some bizarre Internet thing that everybody else knows about?

Case Collectors are fairly common around here. They have at least 100 Case knives, of which 50 were inherited from their father, and 20 of those came from his father before him. They repair motorcycles (and have 20 commemorative Harley Davidson Case knives) and cut down trees (although not with their Case knives) and raise cattle (some of which may have been castrated with a Case knife) and generally do common, ordinary things like that.

I'm 1, 2, some 3, and a little 5 and 9. I have only one Case knife, which (like my one CRK) is a very good knife but just not my sort of thing.

I'm a bit of an All-arounder, a Tinkerer, and a Compulsive Collector (In the sense that I very much enjoy my super inexpensive knives as much as I do my high end knives, and have knives that I've kept since I was a small lad).

Yea know it's kind of wierd. To the rest of the knife community world us Bladeforums guys are looked at as the Old Archaic Basterds that refuse to move on to the newer technologies. I've heard people say stuff like that on podcasts, reddit, instagram etc. Long Live the Old Archaic Knife Basterds!

I own everything from Civivi to Cheburkov. I use them all.

I love to tinker with stuff. Actually removed an old overhead fluorescent light fixture today (first time doing that kind of electrical) and put in a new one. I've only ever done electrical work on cars. My brother in law did a lot of the work as my left shoulder is unreliable.

compulsive collector 😩 I like them all, cheap, expensive, regardless of cost, country of origin, modern, traditional, folding, fixed, automatic, friction folder, new, old, etc. etc.

To me I enjoy trying something new all the time

Got a late start, didja? Sounds like you’ve taken up the slack since then. Good work.

As you know, if you tell anybody you carried a knife to school (except another old fart who also did), you get the horrified “OMG, how ever did you survive in the savage wilderness” look, followed by a quick scurry off into the dubious safety of a “drug and weapon-free zone”, AKA criminal amusement park.

I said in another post somewhere here.....back when I was in highschool, a large percentage of kids had high-power rifles in the back of their vehicles. Literally....
Nobody ever got threatened, or shot.

Talk about eyes bugging out of people's faces.

Seems to love Case collectors for some reason ?

I used to follow his video's ( edge testing ) , but then when he moved house ........ Things went a little ????????? .......... anime !
