Simple as that..

Which company in your opinion produces a killer edge fresh out of the box.. For me - Spyderco, hands down. Inspired me so much to create this thread. I’ve been disappointed with Benchmade’s (fresh out of box edge) for years.. Usually having to touch them up on my edge-pro on the first day to get them hair-whittling.. not bashing them, just speaking the truth.

Rockstead. :D out of the knives I own though spydercos do come out of the box very sharp.

In my experience, Spyderco but I dont care much as I sharpen new knives to my liking anyway.

Oddly enough the best out-of-box edges have been CRKT for me. Now, I'm not talking about long term, just what you get fresh from the box. Spyderco would take a close second place.

Spyderco definitely also the few cold steels I have owned have been really decent.

I've had knives that were really sharp out of the box but not brought up to a high enough polish for my liking. However I bought a Blind Horse T2 and it came both sharp and with a high polish. The only edge I've had that was perfect out of the box.

Mine would have to be Kershaw honestly. The Skyline specifically. The Endura and Griptilian I got were also very sharp.

I would have to say Kershaw but for the price they cost I was very surprised at how sharp Rough Riders come!

I have had good luck with Spyderco for folders.
For fixed blades, Fallkniven has surprised me with scary edges.

The only knife I've ever been able to whittle hair with out of the box was, oddly enough, an Esee 5. I've bought Benchmades, Spydercos, Cold Steels, Bucks, Kershaws, ZTs, etc. Nothing was ever that sharp.
