  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Which knife industry person/people would you like to have a beer with?

1. Sal Glesser
2. Larrin. Although he'd probably get up from the table quickly due to all the questions I have.

Sal should be on everybody's list...
Eugene Solomonik
Chris Reeve
If we have a category for the Dearly departed: Elijah Isham...

Just make sure that you catch him before he gets to the Alamo: he'll be kind of busy at that time...
Hell, he was sick as a dog and bed ridden in the Alamo. Probably the best time to talk to him, I’ve got a captive audience who wouldn’t be able to escape my incessant chatter.

In 2011 I was in A.G. Russell's showroom in Rogers, AR, and The Man himself waited on me. We had a friendly conversation with no beer. I bought 3 knives, including one like he pulled from his pocket, the Titanium button-lock. I treasure that knife and our talk.

This is a tough one to answer, in the context that they’d have to be someone interesting to have a conversation with but laid back enough to have a beer and open up. There are some titans in the industry that while extremely skilled and motivated, seem like they’d be too dull to converse with or on the contrary too intense they’d overwhelm you.

For me, I’d say Andrew Demko. Seems like a laid back guy.. seems motivated with ideas for innovation.. constantly working on new ideas or custom knife projects… was integral to a lot of success at Cold Steel.. so yeah, I guess Andrew Demko would be my choice for kicking back with a few beers.
