Which knife is your "easy chair" TRADITIONAL knife?

I keep my semi retired Vic Champ next to the recliner & a custom JK fixed Toothpick next to the comp.

A small SAK with green alox scales. Can't remember if it is the Farmer or not. Large blade, can opener, combo tool, seems like there is one other thing. It's thin and doesn't take up much room on the TV tray. Of course its often joined by other knives but this one pretty much resides there while the others are in transit.

Sigh. I'm bad about this. I keep too many at hand just because I like to handle them while watching TV or listening to the stereo. All of these are within reach of my chair without getting up. So, here we go...

  1. 5 modern folders & 2 modern fixed that shall go nameless.
  2. Mora Bushcraft Black Carbon Steel Knife
  3. Mora Light My Fire with black handles
  4. Un-X-LD Conductor in blood red jigged bone
  5. Un-X-LD Western Outlaw in natural stag (my favorite traditional)
  6. Leatherman Charge ALX in black & 1980's era Leatherman in original sheath
  7. JK Knives - The Tool with ironwood handles (my favorite fixed blade)
  8. Case Sod Buster & Sod Buster Jr. both in Jet Black Synthetic
  9. CS Cantiller/Canoe in Amber stag
  10. Tidioute Congress in River Blue Wave Jigged Bone
  11. Boker Congress in red bone
  12. CRKT Whittler in burned bone
  13. Buck 303 in rosewood
  14. Buck 301 in rosewood
  15. A Peanut in my pocket, deep red jigged bone

Hahaaaa, I read this to my wife. I have two Microtech combat Troodons, Ultratech, a RAT 1, Spyderco Endura 4, Spyderco military digi camo, and BenckMade H&K Epidemic on the arm of my chair watching Americas Got Talent.

Traditional forum, traditional knives please.

We have a stand on each end of our couch. Vic alox cadet on my side and kershaw jigged bone grant county on hers. I get the knife with bottle opener and she gets the "cute" one

ok, i am sitting on the couch and watching a little TV. and, you just made me pull my GEC 72 out of my pocket and fondle it a bit. Thanks! good thread.

A Wenger Cigar cutter model at the moment. Leather inserts...very classy IMO. I don't have one specifically for couch use, but I always have SOMETHING nearby.

Whatever happens to be in my pocket, unless I've changed to my 'relaxing shorts', and then it's a Ray Kirk pocket medicine fixed blade.

I have room for 8 knives next to me on the chair I sit to watch tv. I find my favorite knives to fondle to be bone handled. My faves are the smooth bone knives I own like GEC calico bone and smooth white/ivory bone.

There is always a Kabar scout knife that I inherited from my grandfather and a multitool on the table next to my chair. I also have a pile that are awaiting sharpening or cleaning or the like. Tonight there are five of those including a Boys Knife, two SAKs, a peanut, and one not to be named. However, the one I play with while watching the tube or hanging out on bladeforums is the one that is in my pocket, because it is most likely the one that was most recently touched up. Tonight it is a chestnut bone peanut in CV.

I have an easy chair.
When I am sitting in it, I normally have a knife in my pocket. That is the only knife in the room and it stays in my pocket.

It's soothing to have a 'fiddle-knife' and a GEC Stag Conductor usually spends time with me in the chair. Note to himself: take a look down the sides of the chair there could be some others there too....:D

That said, I don't look at television much at all, the one I have is 28 years old and when it dies, if...I may not replace it. My more used easy chair is at my desk with the Macbook, around this there are a good 20 knives within reach, they get fiddled with a lot... chronic eh?

I have knives in every room of the house, some rooms more than one, but this one is on the end table next to my easy chair.

Aside from whatever is in my pocket that day, I find that I pick up one of these to fidget with.
Quite traditional, if you ask me... albeit in different circles.

My Fairbairn-Sykes commando dagger is never far away, either. Don't think I have a snapshot handy, though.

One or more of these reside in my pocket most days right now and lounge beside my easy chair in the evening. When I rotate carries some get cleaned/oiled and go in a zip case and others lounge with me when not being carried. The #54 very seldom has to go in the zip case, cause I lub it:thumbup:

GEC #54 Big Jack
Case mini trapper
GEC #15 Boys Knife

I dont pretend to know a bunch about these, but the workmanship o the top and bottom looks just exactly like my rialto 2006.
