So... my esee 4 bit me for the first time tonight... After having her for 3 days... My Izula bit me on the first night!.

I'm sure we've all been through it at least once, the accidental slip, the split second of oh s#it, as you feel the blade touch your skin. Then, your brain is kinda tricked, I don't feel pain! you look down, no blood! I wasn't cut!

Knowledge and experience tells you other wise though and within split seconds the blood starts flowing.

Which one of your blades just loves to taste your blood?

So for me, the score is Izula: 2 ESEE 4: 1

My Emerson CQC-12.It punctured my fingertip the first hour I had it.I have more ciuts from that knife than any & all the other knives I've ever had combined.

It's evil I tell you.It thirsts for blood.

Ya, I was looking for a new edc a few weeks back and stumbled upon the ESEE brand. (I was always a SOG guy, used to edc the spec elite and carried a tech bowie into the brush) The owners seem to be legit and all the peeps here seem friendly, so I decided to give the Izula a try... I'm hooked! Ive had the Izula for about 2 weeks now and my 4 just came a few days ago.

had a USN Mk 2 that i found in the middle of nowhere while backpacking, refurbished it, sharpened it, made a nice leather sheath for it and then it bit me.

before that i had an X-Acto #11 sink itself up to the hilt in my calf. THAT smarted just a bit!

but the EDC knives? not so much. i learned long ago to be friggin' careful with 'em, or they will bite you. same goes for motorcycles, guns, etc.

My finger is glued up and splinted right now from my first Izula bite. It bites harder if you're being stupid with it.

I carry it horizontally across the front of my waist, and I was fiddling with the underside of it where the guard is secured by the retention clip sliding the blade in and out of the sheath just enough to remain between the clips--no idea why I was doing such a thing, maybe it's high time I get laid. Anyway, in my mindless fiddling, it for some reason occurs to me, "Hey, you should put your finger behind the guard and see if it catches it when it comes out." Well, I tried it, and sure enough it didn't catch; cut the side of my finger right next to the nail so deep it nearly went through my cuticle.

I had just got done sharpening it that night, so it only felt like a little prick but I knew right off I was cut bad because one side of my fingertip was no longer flush with the rest of it and was gaping open about 1/6". Then the blood came a few seconds later, and before I could say, "Dude, go get me a towel," I was sitting there with a puddle in my hand.

I tried snapping a picture of it at the ER when I was waiting for the doctor ( he took his sweet time ) to come glue it up, but it only looked like a little scratch on my crappy little camera. Hopefully it will heel up soon, but it's still a little tender. That was on the 15th, and I only got it on the 9th. Didn't take long to learn to respect it.

Mantis Chaos folder (horrible knife) gave me a decent cut a month or so ago. Funny thing is it was simply because it is a horrible knife... the lock failed. The worst cut I have gotten so far was caused by a cheap Shrade (I think) skinner, went right to the bone on my index finger.

Mine was a Benchmade Stryker. I've had various cut from many knives, but I don't think the Stryker liked me.

My RC-4 bit me over the weekend. Probably should have had stitches, but a band-aid is keeping it closed.

Izula, 4 stitches. Wasn't willing to chance band-aid treatment since it was my trigger finger. After having it immbolized for about 10 days, it was everything I could do to pull the 5.5# trigger on my carry Glock. I carried as a lefty for about 2 weeks.

Only one to bite me was my spyderco tenacious. 2 times on the thumb, the palm of my hand, big toe on the right foot and my girlfriend's breast (don't ask how that happened)

My worst bite ever was Buck 119, but the Izzy has tasted it also. Ive had others but they come to mind the easiest...

God what a mental picture this conjurs up (but I won't ask) . . .:)
Styx, (great user name by the way) I thought I was the only one who had a toe injury from a knife. I watched one of our steak knives slip out of my hands at the sink & go in directly behind my big toenail.
It seemed like it took 5 minutes for that knife to fall before it hit my toe, & it was like a dream and I could not move my damn foot out of the way. Luckly, only a puncture wound, no stitches, but oh did it
hurt the next 3 days . . . never offer to help with the dishes unless you have proper clothing & boots on . . . :)
Be safe.

Cut myself on the forward part of the choil on my RC6 - guess my fingers are too fat for that choil.

My pink Izula is a bloodthirsty bitch that gave me 6 stitches and a loss of feeling in the tip of my pinky. On my fretting hand. At least I sucked at guitar beforehand.

Since I stabbed a tendon in my finger last March battoning (which is still a problem) I'm really careful when it comes to knives, but even then it only takes one careless moment to get bit and possibly loss part of a function to your body.

I sliced a nice one on my thumb unsheathing a machete here last month or so, I was changing machetes and this one has the spine sharpened at the tip and I simply wasn't paying attention my thumb was outside of the safety zone..

Other then that I rarely cut myself anymore, and I play with knives all the time.

KaBar Becker Necker. Just finished the cord wrap with the knife safely in the sheath, accidentally pulled it out and pushed it quickly back right in my little finger.
No question about being cut, the blood spurted out, spoiled papers on my desk and spilt over the floor.
I should have gotten stiches but I was too chicken... so I just bandaged it up with one hand and told the wife and kids it was "nothing" after cleaning up the carnage.
Healed fine though.
