Which knife would you buy again after extended use?

I had the same reservations when I got the 0561, and chose it specifically because it appeared to have both studs and a flipper. I quickly realized that I didn't need the studs, since it flips so incredibly well and can be opened slowly by gently actuating the flipper while placing a thumb on the stud to stop it from flying open. I still recommend it whole-heartedly, I think you'll find your fears won't be much of an issue.

Various price ranges and different sizes but these would be mine (in no particular order) :
Griptillan (both sizes), even with the "clacky" scales on the full size
Endura
BM 745
Large and small Insingo
Spyderco large Lum Chinese
Strider PT CC
Caly 3.5

Not sure, I haven't had a chance to handle one yet. Answer is probably yes. It's not anything wrong with the design - ZT explicitly describes them as an external stop pin.
unfortunately Jim Mcnair said in shot-show 0562 video i just sow
that they head complaints about the 0560 thumbstud was to difficult
so in the 0562 they completely made it a stop pin
which is a shame because 0560CF is even nicer looking then the 0561 :(

btw, my 0200 is flipper & thumbstud and work grate,
after braking the 0200 flipper is working with no wrist movement.
and if your following the movement of the studs slowly
and not try make it fly of the handle (which is really dangerous) they're grate as well.

thank you for all the info,
but as you say with the 0561 the right handed studs are not doable
at all even after braking, thats an issue for me.

and i guess ill have to keep looking
or compromise on the 0560 or 0562CF which i really like.

I would probably choose another three sisters forge beast...300 new or maybe 275...285 used. For me, it's everything I look for in a knife...perfect size, awesome steel, esp if I could get one in m390 (mine is s35vn which is more than adequate). The name just suits it...it's definitely a beast

I was actually looking at getting a beast, but the spyderco southard is calling my name, is the beast a really great knife for hard use edc?

I have a couple I would replace.

Leatherman Micra
Opinel #6
Utilitac 2
Milwaukee Utility Knife
Gerber Shard (Not technically a knife, but a very useful keychain tool that I use more often than I ever thought I would.

Case Sodbuster Jr CV

A workhorse plain and simple. And just small enough for watchpocket carry on the weekends.

I own a Serrated Spyderco Harpy. VG-10 steel. I use it when l go.yachting. Any way l have read of numerous cases where the tip.of the HARPY breaks off after some time. If this happens to me ; God forbid then.l will without hesitation buy another one. No knife can rip though rope and net like that little " Rip per " as my sister calls it.

Hands down my extended use / abuse knife is my Benchmade Mini-auto Stryker 9530. I bought it back in 2007 at the PX in Kandahar and this thing has been a total work horse beater. The spring broke in it a couple years ago and BM replaced it and had it back to me OCONUS in a very reasonable time.

I'd probably cry if I ever lost this knife.

Have bought again after use:

Spyderco:

Stretch
Millie
PM 2
Manix
Manix 2 + 2XL
Caly
Caly3.5

Mountain man

GEC:
42 Trader LB

Schrade USA
LB07 Schrade + steel. Still looking for 1095 model

More Barlow style knives than I can count.

Opinel, though if something happened to my #6 I replace it with a #8 or #9 for the simple fact that it's the best cardboard cutter I have ever used. I hate using it as an EDC though, but as a cardboard cutting knife it's exceptional.

Beyond that there is usually minor changes if something happened to a knife I owned. If something happened to my Rough Rider Canoe I probably replace it with a Case CV Canoe. GEC Bullnose gets lost/stolen/destroyed I may have to replace it with a Queen Country Cousin as I wish the GEC had more of a sharp tip.

Gonna be getting another Benchmade 275 in future also 810 but in M390. Have CS Hold Out in all three sizes and might buy another 1 or 2. Also have a couple recon 1's. Aus8 definately not my favorite steel though.

I'd buy any knife I have again or I wouldn't have it now. If I don't care for a knife I won't keep it. But one I would buy again at it's price point in an instant is the Manix 2. It's a whole lotta knife for the money.
