Well, it's currently out of stock on only website where I can order it from, but It'll be on stock in few days, right for Black Friday, so I'm having my hopes on it.I would totally grab a Manly fixed blade. The Patriot is a great size.
Chances aren't that good unfortunatley, because it costs way more than anything commercially available.Smiling,
I just did a Google search for "Croatia knife makers" and came up with quite a few suggestions. No prices, though. What are the chances of you having something made locally?
Well, I tried with ordering Manly Patriot in D2, didn't even wait for black friday. If you like the idea of a Mora but want a slightly better design, Hultafors may be an idea. The OK4 is fairly short and light, could be carried as an EDC if a compact belt knife is no problem where you live. SK5 steel, higher/slicier grind than a Mora HD. But then it has to be sold in Croatia.
As this thread will also be read by people with similar questions but from places where internet ordering is possible, I second the idea of one of the Terava mini blades from Varusteleka - the mini Skrama or the mini puukko. They also sell flat sheaths for them, to be pocketed without handle scales. The bare tang is actually pretty useful as a handle in its own right, not just meant to put your own scales on. I have the mini puukko, and use it for food, cutting bread and cheese as you can just rinse it off and nothing is left sticking. If you need to split wood, you can hit the tang just as hard as the spine of the blade. The bare tang knife in the flat sheath fits into a jacket pocket without a problem. It then is a question of your preferred blade shape - sheep's foot with a long straight cutting edge or the puukko shape with a deep belly and a long straight spine. These knives are thinner (3 mm) than the large puukko or Skrama blades, and have higher grinds so they slice well. But they are still very sturdy.
This looks like an awesome option for everyone willing to spend a bit more on a knife. If you're looking to EDC a fixed blade, Ferrum Forge Lackey all day long.
