Which knives/styles do you plain dislike? For no real reason, rubs ya wrong, design, steel, handle, blade-shapes, brands. Judgement-free opinions.

1. Opening discs. I find them less ergonomic than traditional thumb studs. They are worse than thumb studs when it comes to hanging up on material.

2. Wire clips. I get it I get it, they are cheap, they dont always look like there is a knife in your pocket, its easy to fold them over for deep carry. I just cannot get over the feeling of them flexing and bending in my palm when I am actually using the knife. I would carry knives like the spyderco kapara far more if it didnt have a wire clip.

3. Sculpted clips. Kind of the opposite of wire clips and I don't really understand these other than aesthetics. They more often than not function far worse than traditional looped over steel or Ti clips, you can never get them deep carry so you are carrying a 3 inch folder with a third of the knife handle sticking out of your pocket, they immediately get scratched and scuffed up, they typically have less area under the clip to accommodate thicker pants material, and they usually have a certain level of pant shredding due to having a small single point of contact with the scale. Don't understand paying more for one of these much less garrish timascus versions.

But why do they put thumb holes in fixed blades???

My understanding is that because they have the hole trademarked, not having a hole on all of their products would weaken trademark protection (I'm not any sort of lawyer, so take that with a grain of salt). I concede that the hole has always seemed silly to me on a fixed blade haha... works great on a folder though!

Yep, whole bunch of "cheap liner locks" pictured here 🤣.. and d@mn those holes for making them all so easy to open! 🤪
compression lock , whatever you want to call it. Some of them pictured do have liner locks, which are crap.
But alas, I'm so very sorry that I may have offended one of your knives. Do you need a safe space?
I really didn't mean to. Can you find it in your heart to forgive me? Pretty please with sugar on top?
If so I may even send you a nah nah boo boo teddy bear to keep you warm and cozy at night.
THEY ARE UGLY. Dog crap UGLY.
Ooops , I did it again.

The Internet ; A place where you are entitled to an opinion that is often scrutinized by an asshole.

Hah I bet you're fun at parties.

Another I thought of: only offering a knife with serrations. Why? It's literally an extra step adding serrations. Just skip that step and set aside some as plain edge. Given that most people seem not to like serrations, these serrated-only models make no sense to me.

I’m in the same boat! It only makes sense for people who like cheap knives and don’t sharpen them very often. For those people I say: I’m sorry for your loss!

I had this issue with Benchmade. Back in the day I wanted a Bedlam with a coated blade, plain edge, and manual action because autos are 100% illegal where I live. That configuration didn’t exist and when I contacted Benchmade to ask why they said something to the effect of “we can’t please everyone”.

The crazy thing is you could get the Bedlam in a plain edge with a coated blade, but ONLY if it was an auto

Insulting or Rude behavior
I IXLR8 R ricklikesknives Let’s not take this any further, please.
Just like I said in my last post. Here on the Internet, there's always someone who has to interject. This time with plea.
I'm not mad at him. He aint mad at me. Just some back and forth jousting. Plus I know he's not Einstein. And he knows, I really am the life of the party.
And now you know that you have no business crying and whining. The next thing you will do is report. Because you have been personally attacked. Or, at least , that is what you will claim.
The Internet has ruined the world. Almost.
Who in the hell are you to tell members what to do or not do? And then beg with " please."?
There's always one of you. On every forum. Every message board. The Hall Monitor. Ass kisser wanting to be a Mod. Buying your membership and opinions.
Anybody disagrees with you..........Oh I'm a gold member. Then it gets kicked up to the mods and management. " Wait a minute! This guy is a gold member! IXL has only been here since 2009! He isn't paying!"
So what happens next? You seem like a smart guy.
Take a look around. What happens when a guy like me challenges the intellect of an upstanding, paying, member, such as yourself, my good man?
I can see it now. I HAVE BEEN PERSONALLY ATTACKED AND I DEMAND JUSTICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sit down hot shot.
With Love,
Arthur Smith

P.S. - I'm gonna buy a gold membership. Then I'm gonna pay the fee and start selling my hand crafted knives here. Then I'm gonna be just like you on the standards of etiquette. Except for one thing.
I'm not gonna go sticking my nose around until it gets brown. Good day, sir.
Would you care for some Grey Poupon?
