1. Opening discs. I find them less ergonomic than traditional thumb studs. They are worse than thumb studs when it comes to hanging up on material.
2. Wire clips. I get it I get it, they are cheap, they dont always look like there is a knife in your pocket, its easy to fold them over for deep carry. I just cannot get over the feeling of them flexing and bending in my palm when I am actually using the knife. I would carry knives like the spyderco kapara far more if it didnt have a wire clip.
3. Sculpted clips. Kind of the opposite of wire clips and I don't really understand these other than aesthetics. They more often than not function far worse than traditional looped over steel or Ti clips, you can never get them deep carry so you are carrying a 3 inch folder with a third of the knife handle sticking out of your pocket, they immediately get scratched and scuffed up, they typically have less area under the clip to accommodate thicker pants material, and they usually have a certain level of pant shredding due to having a small single point of contact with the scale. Don't understand paying more for one of these much less garrish timascus versions.
