Right? One hand, instant open, cut, instant close, all without having to adjust your grip on the knife, and your fingers are never in the path of the blade closing.
They shouldn't be in the blade path regardless.....and if you are doing that silly "drop shut" thing, well, play stupid games, get stupid prizes.....

Well, that's what I'm talking about. "Shouldn't" is certainly great, but if wishes were horses, we'd all ride. Unlocking and closing a crossbar lock (AXIS) knife is objectively easier, safer, and quicker than closing a framelock because at no time are your fingers in the path of the blade's travel, unlike a framelock. Bear in mind that I say this as someone who A. has many more framelock equipped knives than crossbar lock knives, and B. who is has a framelock knife in my pocket as I type this. Your thumb is in the blade path, and many people here have been bit (or have had people they allowed to look at one of their knives) when a blade on a framelock they weren't familiar with, swung closed more quickly than they were ready for before they could get their thumb (which had to reach across the blade path of closure, to depress the lockbar) out of the way. I have never had a cross bar lock knife present this issue. 🤷

assisted folders make me want to vomit.
I also really dislike it when a blade is super thick behind the edge! (I'll make an exception for my AD20)

Well, that's what I'm talking about.
My take is that if your fingers are in the way of the blade, the blade shouldn't be moving. I've never had a problem with a liner lock or a frame lock. Seems like the vast majority of those who have had a problem either didn't know how to use the lock, were just careless or maybe lacked the proper co-ordination / dexterity to use it properly.

Maybe so, but the point is it is a non-issue with an axis lock.

And, by the way, I have had my fingers nicked by a liner lock - mistakes happen. That doesn’t mean I‘m going to toss out my Inkosi;)

Frame lock easier to use than Axis lock? :rolleyes:That is certainly a unique opinion, but certainly one you are entitled to. Have you used an Axis lock?

Some people just love to argue. I'm out. You know where you can stick your eye roll emoji.
I like black jelly beans. A LOT of people don't like them, yet you don't see me shoving them in peoples face trying to convince them how good they are, or trying to discredit WHY they don't like them. You fanboys are a piece of work. God forbid someone has something negative to say about your beloved knife company.

1, Metal scales or handles, Titanium especially whats so premium about slick and slimy in the heat and making your hand numb ihe cold?

2. In the UK for general carry Im limited to 3 inch non-locking so why are so many modern slip joints so heavily bladed ?
I own a British Army Golok thats 3mm 1/8" thick, but Im unlikely to want to hack through the bush with a 3 inch blade,

I ended up getting over my "mall knife" association, but I still don't like/shy away from them only because there's just more stuff to go wrong, and more room for misinterpretation. I have an orange RAT 1, I love it. Almost got the assisted version instead (year ago) but decided on the regular, because it opens very fast, very easily, manually. What is that big orange "safety" button and the spring going to do, except make a cop who's never checked the knife law look at it sideways? Or maybe break on me and mess the knife up. No reason to get it but to say, "cool" for a minute, and pay some extra cash.

Assisted except real punk switchblades, bearings, 3D machined/engraved handles, rusted exposed portion of a full-tang, harpoon or any blade whose spine goes above the upper part of the grip, primary or secondary colors (or any color in the color wheel) on a knife, any metal engraving except traditional scroll work, bail on slip joints.

Maybe some more once I remember them.

All of which are reasons why a lot of people like crossbar locks and Benchmades in particular for having the feature which avoids all this.

Said another way, there’s a reason why many different makers co-opted the crossbar lock as soon as they were legally able to.

You seem really upset.

Never wore any other color jeans but black... and only recently have started willing to compromise with the weather.
For many years, it was just black jeans, tall Doc Martens or Converse, band shirts and usually some kind of vest/jacket to go over that, all day every day haha. I still am identifiable by that look but now it's Carhartts and I have a tad more color lol

Lol I still wear my Sublime shirt from 1995. I was 16. I wear band shirts less now, but yeah. Oh and my yellow Beastie Boys shirt from the 1998 Hello Nasty tour. Hell of a concert.

On to knives:

I very much strongly dislike excessively shallow pocket clips. I don’t like a chunk of knife sticking out of my pocket. Even with a deep carry clip my Yojimbo 2 is barely tolerable.

Single screw pocket clips. However, there are exceptions. Many appear to be single but actually have one on the inside of the scale, or have post to keep it from shifting.

As others have said, excessive branding etc. Looking at you Kershaw/ZT. I don't understand the need for that much info. Still love my 0095BLK and 0470.
