Which of your slippies gets the most use?

Lately the one I've been carrying with me the most is a large 4 5/8" Moore Maker sodbuster with delrin scales and blade of 1095. It's a handy knife to have in the back pocket when out with my dog on our local mountain roads and trails.

I mainly use a Queen small stockman and a Queen Utility (which is like a Case slimline trapper)
I also really like the weight and length of the utility and use it alot for food, and for general cutting the smaller blades of a small stockman.

The Queen Utility is in Maple D2 and the same price as a Case Red bone CV
D2 holds wicked sharp, and is almost stainless, and has no after taste on food like CV does.
I wipe it down with water and dry it after cutting all sorts of acidic food, and has no patina

I purchased two knives made by Queen, a RAT folder and a Schatt & Morgan limited edition Mountainman. Both look great, the ram horn handle on the RAT is beautiful. However, they both came without an edge, and I don't mean a bit blunt, I mean they came with a useles grind that would not cut.

I don't mind doing a little sharpening on a new knife, but I don't think the end user should be expected to actually grind the blades.

After those two knives, I decided to switch to Case for most of my pocket knife needs.

I rebevel all the Queen knives I get.
Well worth the effort.
It only takes 1/2 hour, and it is a new knife so I will be sharpening it sooner or later
Yes, I can see why folks would not want to do that.
But with D2, I am left with razor sharp blades that hold their edge forever

1. Case yellowhandle medium stockman CV.
2. Case yellowhandle Sodbuster jr. CV.

One or both is always with me.

Although I have a number of slipjoints, I'd have to say the one that gets the most use is my 22 year-old Schrade Old Timer 34OT. Over the years, I rounded off all its sharp corners and edges, and reground the sheepsfoot blade some. It is one slick little "pocketable" knife!

I'm considering getting a Case Small Jackknife in CV with amber bone scales and rounding off all its corners and edges and using it as a substitute for my old Schrade.
