Which one is least noticable clipped inside front pocket

Boyzz, I remove the clips on all my knives, so as not to attract attention.;)
When I get a new pair of jeans/slacks, I sew up the one side of the front pocket
which creates a type of sheath knife pocket.
Add a lanyard, and walla!! your knife is out of your pocket faster than a mosquito at a nudist camp.:D

If you are wearing black jeans black of pants in general the emerson cqc-14 snubby will blend in quite well because of the flat black clip.I'm not sure of the laws there but where i'm from we have to show and not conseal our knives. For new york snubby would be my first choice for sd use.caly 3 would be best suited for utility though.

Do be aware that, as far as the NYC law concerning visible display is concerned, a non-locking folder clipped in your pocket would still violate it. Granted, you'd probably only lose the knife and get fined rather than risk having the charges escalate to a misdemeanor "gravity knife" charge that could land you in jail, although there's still a slight chance the cop might decide it's a "dangerous knife", but even just the confiscation and fine would be an inconvenience.

Wire clips seem to attract less attention, plus I wear long shirts that cover the clip. I have taken to carrying IWB as an alternate to pocket carry as well.

I have been following the latest threads as well -- GarageBoy's Para, the Harpy, the Strider + Emerson... so I am fully aware of the consequences.

I would like to share my solution with you all.I chose a piece of cloth that matches the clothes I wear say black jeans and make a little sheath which I slip over the clip then it is sort of camouflaged and is not noticeable. If I go clubbing (out to party) I leave all knives at home.

Another vote for the Caly 3 here. I EDC one every day and it's perfect for me. Saying that my wife's buying me a small regular Sebenza for my birthday...
:D

try poliwog. it has a wire clip, the blade is under 6 cm but is strong and has a ball bearing lock. it looks strange :), u can say that is a cigar cutter, but in reverse grip is good for sd.

When I don't want people to know I'm carrying a knife (I always carry a gun anyways), I usually carry a neck knife & my SS Spyderco Navigator II as a money clip. Even if I don't have any money to clip to it, I still carry it in my pocket.

I would say other than carrying it in your pocket, a Boker Jim Wagner folder (There's a smaller model now). It has an optional "pen clip" that makes it look like a pen is clip in your pocket.

+1 on just don't clip it in NYC.
+1 on the Caly 3 if you must clip it.

If you live in NYC it would probably be best to take the clips off your knifes, just in case you forget.

For places where it's legal, read about another way to clip your knife.

A brand of khaki pants called Puritan look sort of like Dockers. They have the vertical khaki pants style, rather than the blue jean horizontal style front pockets. The upper inner side of the pocket liner does not go all the way to the upper inner side. Instead it has a downward pointing triangle. One side of that triangle connects to front of the pants pocket and one side connects to the hidden elastic waist band. You can clip a knife on that triangle and it totally out of sight. Even when you sit down you don't see the outline of a knife because it's right where pants bunch up when you sit down.

Guys I hear all of the advice being given, but NYPD is locking folks up for clipped pocket carry! Lose the clips and carry the folders in your pocket while in the city. i do not live in NY nor do I agree with the laws, but it is the way it is being enforced! Stay safe and God Bless You ALL!

My Massad Ayoob blends in very nicely, sits low in the pocket, has a black clip which works well with black pants I wear.

I'll say a Byrd Crossbill (it's made by spyderco) and if your worried about people noticing it. just drop it in your pocket.

'dropping in pocket' = concealed carry.

Also, a byrd crossbill can look downright menacing even to knife people...

I live in Philadelphia and have had a few close calls with my clipped knife (front right) being seen by the law. So far so good but after the last time I started carrying above my back right hand jean pocket with the clip behind my belt.

Not exactly true. NYPD is locking folks up for exposed carry. While it's true that the clip facilitates that, assuming an otherwise legal knife, if it is both clipped and completely concealed from view, it's still perfectly legal. On the other hand, using a belt sheath that allows part of a clipless knife to show would be just as likely to get you arrested there as carrying one visibly clipped.

I've never seen a clipped knife in a pocket that did not have at least part of the top of the knife visible when you look down on it. I would not want to risk getting arrested based on the belief that the clip is not part of the knife.

Sorry, but clipped IS actually considered by many cops here to be "exposed." I know, it seems preposterous (and I see quite a few people with knife clips) but in the couple of incidents I am familiar with (mentioned elsewhere on this forum), clipped is not concealed to NYPD.
