I'll be doing another long weekend camping trip in the next few weeks. This time I'll be heading out for the Hill People Gear Summer Gathering and celebrating my birthday with my family and the Hill Brothers and a bunch of other folk. I can't imagine a better way to spend my birthday.

I'm wondering which knife I should test out next so I can save you from more Camp Nessie pics. I'm having a hard time deciding so I thought what they hey, why not do a poll and let you help me pick. Originally I was just thinking about the 4.5" + blades, but decided to open it up to the Bushfinger and Bushcrafter as well.

So from the following 6, which one should I use?

Woodsman, Camp Nessie (not included in poll), Hunter, Bear Paw, Woodchuck

Bushfinger, Bushcrafter

Well my vote's in -- IMO, the hunter seldom gets the necessary attention it deserves! I've been through 4 others prior to finally settling down on one; its my current favorite 1 knife solution, followed closely by the big sneaky. Now I do have a leuku coming, so the verdict isn't quite out yet, but there's something to be said about the versatility of a 4.5-5" fiddleback!

I voted for one model but I hate to drive up any market interest in it 'cause damn it's gettin' hard to buy a Fiddleback. So here I'll just say take the Bushcrafter ;)

Lets see what that Hunter is made of......put it to the test !

My Hunter is my one knife solution for longer outings without an axe or larger blade. It is also a brilliant knife

If our not using any I can employ them for you. Especially that woodsman!

Well said will I would have to agree.
The leuku will be an interesting test for me to see were it fairs in the line up.

Nathan,

I voted for the Hunter. I have never owned one, so I would like to learn more about it to determine if I "need" one in my line-up.

I am already looking forward to a great write-up and more of your amazing photos.

Honestly Thurin, you are just going to have to take more camping trips! I know, as hard a pill as that is to swallow, it's just seems the reality of the situation.

I voted BC because I love it and want to see you give it a workout, but I also want to see the Hunter get the gauntlet.

Lastly, everyone gave me great advice for my big(ger) knife thread and I ended up settling on Tha Baron's Duke. Bocote, TT and the same set-up as my current BF, only the BF is Lacewood. Should be a nice pair.

SO....I also want to see a Duke review when you finally decide to pick one up!

3 trips and counting ;-)

I can only vote for something I already have. I don't want to hear about another awesome fiddleback model that I don't own.

Actually I voted for the bushcrafter even though I don't have one - the hunter or woodsman would be interesting too.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Lots of good dialogue going on. I can't respond to them at the moment but I'll try to this evening.

Last night it was looking like the Hunter was the runaway (although the Woodsman is coming on strong) so I spent some time sharpening it up in anticipation.

Oh boy I see a bushcrafter in your future :D
